Just as a warning, whilst this is a good discount this does not appear to come with any guide rails, which are the entire point of using this product over a convential circular saw.

Those can be purchased as extra but do cost quite a few pennys
    EG https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?page=1&q=dewalt%…

looking at 260 for a 1.5M (Good length for Crosscutting sheets of material) and 379 for 2.6m ( ripping sheets length wise)
Also the speciality clamps to fit them are a further $69 bucks.

So just be aware if you do not already own any dewalt guide rails (i dont know if its cross compatible with other brands but i highly doubt it) it will be a few more dollers to get this working.

Also to note, the anti-kickback function only works on DeWalt guides. If you use a Festool guide for instance, you won't get that function.

It's pretty crazy they want to charge 240 for their guide. My dad got his Makita on discount for $100, but it's usually $149 for 1.4m

You can also attach standard circular saws to these as well. I use a Bosch circular saw sometimes on the Makita guide.

      • Do you need any sort of adapter to make a normal circular saw work with the Makita guide? i hadn't heard of this before!

Nah, it depends if your saw has the correct base plate. Most do (for a given system), even an el-cheapo Ryobi I have has got it. Haven't tested it on any guide yet, but the groove is there
