    • Hence a deal

    • +1

i felt creeped out looking at the ebay post..

    • +3

No wonder it's only $7 they are trying to get someone elses finger prints on it

  • +1

WOOT! more knives! You know the drill guys.
Only the knife knows what goes on in the heart of a pumpkin.

    • +3

      That's really beautiful.

  • +7

    Knives Out.

    • cant believe they sold out in 1 min.

      • +2

        All 19 of them.

  • found this one also Link Here

    • +2

Cheap cleavers are actually the way to go. Cut through anything and who cares if you chip the blade?

  • +6

I bought this same knife at a Chinese grocery for $3.

But with delivery this could be considered a bargain.

    • +1

Even the OP says it's not a bargain.

  • That sold out quickly.

    • +1

Yes, Idk why this is their RRP.

      • Well, technically 12% off.

  • +3

Here is a link if you missed out on this one Link here

    • thanks

    • is this the same brand?

    • Same seller, right? What's the difference between this and the one OP linked?

  • +1

This looks to be the same brand, even with the same image: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BN-Stainless-Steel-7-KIWI-Profes…

    • Genius thanks got 2

    • And also from same seller. Are they the same product?

  • +4

I've got some from the same brand they are unbelievable good for the price

  • Their cleavers are great too. But beware lots of fakes about

    • +1

I mean.. how bad can a fake version of a $7 knife be?

  • Sharp deal which will cut those global deals in half!

  • They are great knives but they are kind of a disposable product since you can't really sharpen them due to the scalloped bevel. Maybe a professional knife-sharpener would do it but why bother when the normal price is like $2 or $3 at an Asian supermarket?

    • +4

You may not be able to sharpen it "properly", but a few pulls through a decent pull through sharpener and it's good to go. I've been using one for about a year. I use a steel on it every couple of days and the pull through sharpener every month or two as the steel stops having much effect.

      • Yeah fair enough I didn't think of that. I guess by doing that you're changing the bevel angle because they come from the factory with a very shallow angle. So you keep it sharp but you'll never get the same razor edge.

        • Yep, I'm using a 15 degree pull through, so it's plenty sharp enough. I can't quite take off arm hairs with it, but it feels close.

    • +1

Not so true. I have had mine for ten years and it’s always sharp after using the sharpener. My previous flat mate used to wonder why the knife was always a good knife as he never saw me sharpen it. This is my fav knife even tho I have many others. I paid something like $3 for it
The sharpener was $5 from Kmart

  • +2

Got one 4 years ago, still going strong

    • What's your method to keeping it sharp?

      • +3

        A knife sharpener

      • Google accusharp pull-through knife sharpener if you don't want to use sharpening stones. There's plenty of brands which are decent, this is just the one I settled on after a bit of research a while ago. You want to get one which matches the blade angle of your knife.

      • I didn't do much maintenance at all, it just stays sharp oddly

  • I bought one from one of the Ebay links, unfortunately not Asian supermarkets around me to hit up for the $2-$3 quoted.

    • I think they were about $9 - 10 around my areas.

  • +1

Best knives I've ever owned. Highly recommend

  • +1

This is proper knife, all others deal recently are just fashion and $ grabbing.

  • Great knives - love these

  • Great knives, ideal for finely chopping ingredients.

  • +1

Beats them shite Globals not gonna lie. I have 1 for 5 years now and still cutting like a new one. Only used a diamond to sharpen - no stone nor sharpener.

    • +1

I really like mine, it is bullet proof.

    • diamond… !?

      • humble brag/ sarcasm?

  • I just realised I have a Kiwi branded cheese knife. Clearly better than the rest of my cheese knives.

    • They have a tiny cleaver which is both excellent and really, really cute. Use it for cheese, maybe it's the same one.

      • Yep, that's the one. Received with cheese related items, can't remember where though, as I didn't buy it specifically. Only remember my reaction to how well it cut cheese.

  • +1

these are great knives for the price, I have several of them.
they're cheap as, and sold at most asian supermarkets.
the problem is that the steel is extremely hard, and difficult to sharpen
but for the price, you can just chuck it an dbuy a new one..
They have several shapes/styles, but I find the one in the picture the most useful (thai style? dunno)

    • Yeah, wish I didn't post this here, otherwise it will be still some available haha

    • Thanks Ricky, I just updated the link, they can buy more now.

  • I use the 5inch rounded tip Kiwi knives as a general day to day knife.

They are $2-3 each. Have about 10 of them, throw them in the dishwasher (hence why I buy the rounded tip).

Have used them for years without resharpening them.

They are now getting a bit blunt.

The dilemma is resharpening them because they super cheap and super sharp out of the box, versus just buying new ones.

I think I'll spend an hour or two sharpening them to help the environment.

    • Can you you please share a link?

      • No link because they are available at most larger asian grocery stores.

        That's where I get mine.

        Also at Asian kitchenware stores.

  • OOS. I did message the seller to post their knives deals on here. Probably will be wondering why these sold out so quickly both deals. Probably having a wtf moment

  • I have been using a Kiwi brand knife for 7 years.
Sharpen with a Wusthof 4348 knife sharpener to keep a razor edge.
Just bought some Baccarat Knife Covers from Robin's Kitchen for $20 to keep us safe.

  • they seem pretty cheap. does it matter if it's another listing. like I'm sick of the jap knives and having to do wetstone or the Victorinox knives and having to do the sharpening properly.

  • +1

I am just gonna say I have had a kiwi knife I bought randomly at a local korean grocer and it has been an absolute house, even put int he dishwasher every couple of days for a year and she keeps on cuttin.

  • Got half a dozen of these , nothing cuts fruit, vegies incl pumpkin and melons better.

  • Sounds like something I'll look into next time at an Asian grocer!

  • +1

    This isn't a bargain.
These knives are normally $4-5 at the local Asian store..
This is the most I've seen this knife go for.
These are the best value knives though but being a soft metal they both go blunt and sharpen easily.
