Decent Quality Generic Toner Cartridge for Brother MFC

Can someone please recommend me a seller, Ebay or otherwise that sells Decent Quality Generic Toner Cartridge for my Brother MFC-L2750DW

The cartridge is TN-2450.

I've tried 2 separate vendors, one from EBay and one from a printer store. Both weren't good- streaks and blotches, so will return them.

Any cartridge which works like OEM? Surely can't be that hard to find a decent product lol

Thanks.

I’ve used Tonerstop generic toners (both refills and generic cartridges) in my Fuji Xerox and Brother MFCs over the years. They’re reasonably priced and the quality is good.

    • Great to know..

Did you find it hard to use the refills and did you need to use a chip?

I'm thinking of using the refills for environmental reasons.

      • Refilling toner cartridges from bottles was relatively easy, I only had to unscrew the plastic housing of the cartridge to reset the gears/flag to reset the print count. Mind you, I was a uni student back then so I had heaps of time and relatively little money so I thought it was worth spending 30 minutes to refill stuff.

I probably won’t refill cartridges now, I go through half the C/M/Y cartridges and 2 black ones each financial year and it doesn’t make sense to have half used bottles of toner in storage when I can buy individual aftermarket cartridges immediately when they run out for under $300 and claim a deduction.

        • I'm happy to spend a few minutes to play with refilling if the results are good.

I'm trying to reduce the amount of waste I produce and if I can refill, I'd prefer that option.

    I use inkstation.com.au, never had a problem.
Can take the used cartridges to Officeworks to recycle them.

I've also been using inkstation for the last 5 years.
Quality is not as good as the original one. But at 1/4 of the price, I can't complain.

  • I just purchased a three pack online this morning, from ebay. I hope they are not duds like yours.

    • Fingers crossed for you. I also bought a 3 pack.

If they are good let me know who the seller is.

    • Did it work?
I am planning to buy but afraid they may not work…

I get my toner from eBay. You'll have to choose whether you want one with a chip or without (DRM protection) You can remove the chip from your existing toner.

  • Update.

I bought a 3 pack from ebay.. seller yyuda / item number is 232759713257

$50 for 3 which is cheap.

1 out of 3 worked well.

The faulty ones had poor print quality or just wouldn't print as the printer kept on saying toner low/empty.

They sent 2 new ones. I sent the faulty ones back using paypal free return shipping.

Fortunately the 2 replacements works well.

After a bit of hassle, I got fairly good working toner cartridges at a great price.

Quality isn't like original but good enough for everyday printing.

    The blacks are fairly smooth.

The whites (non printed area) has a very faint smudging. I can notice it because I'm looking any imperfections but most people won't.

I wouldn't use the printer if I was going to send it to my top clients or I was using it to apply for a job but overall it's a 7.5/10 which is probably as good as you're going to get for a generic cartridge at 20% of the price of the original.

Will buy from the seller again.

One tip, if you're bought a 3 pack, test each one even if the 1st one is perfect. By the time you finish the 1st, you won't be able to return any faulty ones.q

    • how are your yyuda toner cartidges going?

Today my brother MFC just displays "no-toner" message and refuses to work. It's about half way through a yyuda cart I guess.

I'm wondering if the brother has done an udate over the weekend and stopped non-genuine cartridges working??

      • As of tonight, still good. I've used about 1 and a half reams of paper so far and my Brother MFC indicates 70% full toner. Kids studying from home so they print a fair bit. Although I do wonder if the aftermarket fill up the cartridge with the same amount of toner that Brother does. I suspect if they can save 5 cents, they will.

When you say half way, you taken the toner out and shaken it to determine if there is any toner left?

Hopefully what you say about the update is not true.

I must admit, I'm pretty happy with the yyuda toner cartridge. Print quality seems to have gotten better since I first got it or maybe because I'm working from home, I forgot what the quality of a business printer looks like. Even if the life of the toner is 1,500 pages, rather than 3,000 pages, that's still less than 1/3rd the cost of the original toner.

      • I bought Brother MFC drums from yyuda and they throw error messages - tried everything - bud they're duds and now I have a $400 paperweight.

    • I suspect the faulty recycled cartridge wasn't cleaned properly before refill. I read about it happening to someone on either here or whirlpool.

      • Pretty sure they weren't recycled.

They looked brand new and don't have any Brother logo's on them.

I'd prefer they be recycled Brother cartridges, but they are just generics.

Anyway, I'm still happy with the print quality.

I doubt I will get 3,000 pages out of them.. my first cartridge now indicates to be 50% full. Having said that, kids prints things which are more than the standard 5% coverage.

  • I've been using Protoner Warehouse (procolor2012 on eBay) for several years. Excellent quality generic toner cartridges at very economical prices. Never had a faulty cartridge.

    • Thanks.. will keep it in mind in future
