14” Laptop Recommendation - Budget $1500 or Less

Hi all,

I’m after a 14” (or 13”) laptop for Microsoft office, videos, some gaming (thru QHD 60hz screen) and work travel. Must have HDMI and USB-C (PD). Budget $1500 or less. No need for touchscreen or tablet mode.

I’m currently between:
- Inspiron 7490 i5-10210U/mx250/8GB/512GB $1431
- IdeaPad slim 5i i5-1035G1/mx330/8GB/512GB $1248
- IdeaPad slim 5 R7-4700U/nil/8GB/512GB $1269 (bad screen colour, can go to 16GB for $95)

Any suggestions/other options? I wish the AMD IdeaPad had a better screen.

  Dell Latitude models or Thinkpad T/X/Carbon models with 3 year warranty.
  I bought my Dell 7490 one year ago with less than $1200. Very happy with it.

  I was contemplating the Acer Swift 5 because its super light but has Thunderbolt 3 for potential eGPU. Has the G7 CPU with Iris Plus GPU I believe, not sure how it performs in gaming - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/544140

  I ended up spending more on the Dell Vostro 7590 @ 1,898.99 with $258.95 cashback with the 15% Cashrewards. - 9th Gen 6 Core, 1x16gb, 512gb, GTX 1650 4GB, 97WHr Battery and its ready to ship. Used price protection card in case prices come down more. Has space for another M2 SSD and another slot which I will fill with another 16gb.   The ideapads both have the same screen btw. Not sure where you got the idea that the intel one has a better screen than the AMD one.
