ty just called up and got a PB

      • when do you have to activate by?

        • +2

          Says 29 Apr 2021

  • +1

Is this new customers only ?

    • You need a new sim.

      • Apparently mentions recharges as well. Worth trying if you are already with Boost.

        • I have tried but it says $300 so didn't bother continuing

    • +4

I just called boost mobile and they said not for current customers. So upsetting!!!

      • +1

        port out then back in?

        • My plan doesn’t expire until 27/9. Not sure if I Buy this now would it expire soon. I have heard porting is taking a long time due to covid?

          • +1

@pizzacracker: Just ported from Telstra in 10 mins call.

          • +1

@pizzacracker: I bought an extra one back in March to use in 1 years time, as long as you port out and back in before the sim expiry, should be fine.

Sim Expiry for these is April 2021, as above.

  • -1

Can you buy a $2 sim from a servo and activate this deal? Or only via website order?

    • yes.

      NEW CUSTOMERS:
      Grab a SIM

      CURRENT CUSTOMERS:
      Select $300 when you recharge

      • That "Grab a Sim' on the website takes you to the $250 sim.

    • No you can't. I got a $2 sim last night and after porting when I tried to recharge, the price was $300. Spoke to their customer rep and got a hostile response

    • It's an online only offer. I would recommend buying your SIM online.

  • After pricebeat from OW, how much does it work out to be?

    • 250*.95

    • ($250*95%)/12=$19.79 per month.

    • +5

      $237.50
      $19.79/month

  • +4

    Any offer on 80GB plan?

    • Via jbhifi, 80gb $55 for 12 months. They’ll give you a $400 gift card which you can either use or sell. So plan only costs you $260 and you pay monthly too

  • +4

When will these need to be activated? Still got over a month on my Catch Connect plan.

  • thanks op

  • +1

Does the SIM need to be activated by June 30th 2020?

    • +3

I don't think so. Usually, the expiry of these ones (the last date for activation) runs for around a year from purchase date.

  • Thanks!! got office works to price beat

    • What is the expiry date on the card, if you don't mind sharing?

      • +2

i just got the gift card from OW and it expires 19/3/2022

      • +1

Depends on the stock available - one I got is expiry 29 April 2021

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Great deal!

When does this need to be ported by?

Also, can I port as an existing Telstra (direct) prepaid customer coming off 12 months in coming months.

    • +2

If you're currently with Telstra direct you need to contact Boost for a special SIM to be able to port over. Alternatively, $2 Vodafone SIMs are half price at Coles in the current catalogue so you could just get one of them and port away from the Telstra network entirely and then come back to Boost via this deal with an Officeworks price beat. Depends if you want to wait for Boost to ship you a special SIM or eat the $1 SIM cost to do it faster.

      • +3

I was able to do this without the special sim, just had to call telstra and convert to prepaid then call boost and switch it was all pretty simple and straightforward.

        • That's good news I guess. Might just do that for my parents phones then.

      • Doesn't Vodafone activation now requires plan/payment inorder to activate? I believe$10 being minimum.

        • +1

I can confirm that $2 Vodafone SIM is no longer an option. Tried to activate it yesterday and it was asking for me to load a minimum $10 recharge as well. Ended up just using $5 Aldi SIMs instead.

  • +1

Pickep up 3 with price beat from Officeworks Milton, Brisbane. They had about 30 in stock according to POS.

    • +1

does it state when it needs to be activated by?

      • +5

All of my packs just have 19 March 2022 as the expiry date.

  • Anyone know if you can add more data to these plans?

    • You can only buy packs when it’s used up I believe.

    • Usually at least 12 months but YMMV.

  • +6

Just got mine at Officeworks $237.50 April 2021 expiry. No issues at all very fast transaction at checkout.

  • im on a telstra plan atm, will i be able to switch to this boost plan without any issues?

    • +1

If you're currently with Telstra direct you need to contact Boost for a special SIM to be able to port over. Alternatively, $2 Vodafone SIMs are half price at Coles in the current catalogue so you could just get one of them and port away from the Telstra network entirely and then come back to Boost via this deal with an Officeworks price beat. Depends if you want to wait for Boost to ship you a special SIM or eat the $1 SIM cost to do it faster.

Obviously you may also be up for any fees to end your Telstra contract like ETC or handset payments.

      • I've heard that if you switch to Telstra prepaid from contract and then onto boost it works with the normal boost sim.
        Is this incorrect?

        • That's correct, it's how I converted over last week, call Telstra ask to go to prepaid, then call Boost and get converted to boost, all pretty easy.

  • My colleague was on Telstra postpaid (without contract) he changed to prepaid by calling telstra, then got the sim card from boost, called boost and they did the transition.. without the need to go get vodafone sim or any other..

    I will attempt the same..

  • thanks op got one for my wife and i using price match over the phone with officeworks.
currently on telstra business, i'll try this method of switching to telstra pre-paid then porting to boost.

    • +1

unfortunately they are not doing changeover from postpaid to prepaid over phone but advising to use telstra app instead, and i have been on it for past 2 hrs and ZILCH progress..

      • i just tried to get ahead of the play by calling boost and telling them i was on a telstra post-paid and if they could send me a 'special sim. she said that i should call telstra and ask to be switched to prepaid then do the port.
        hmm…
        looks like it's circles.

      • How are you meant to do it on the app?

        • Still no luck (after 4 hrs) via app or even via phone call to billing dept.. alas !!

  • +3

You realise atm you can sign up to Telstra via JBHiFi and get 80gb per month for $55 if you port in on a 12 month contract.
That's $660 total but you get a $400 JBHiFi voucher so sell it in the classifieds for $360 & for $300 you have a Telstra post paid plan with 80gb per month. Another option if 240gb isn't gonna last you a year

    • +4

Agreed. The data is a limitation for boost plan compared to Telstra . But for me boost offers unlimited international calls to the countries I need. Something to consider for prospective buyers.

      • so true, i call international very frequently

    • But you are locked for 12 months. And ETC of $390 applies if you want to leave.

      • That is same for Boost as well, in a way. You pre-pay, with no refunds once ported.

        • But its $250 in case of Boost whereas in case of Telstra its at least $55+390.

    • Any chance you have a link for that deal? Can't seem to find anything matching the plan you described on JB's site. Cheers

I got my pack too today. Less than a dollar per GB. Not bad for the aussie market. Vodafone has 270gb for $209.90, however its over 210 days, and its rationed out at 45gb per 35days.

  • Great deal, but if you have Mate nbn you can add a sim with 25gb @$20 which makes it even a better deal.

    • Thanks mate. But on their website, it says $30 per month for 25gb. The $10 credit goes towards the nbn plan. Is that right?

      • Yes. So if you have let’s say the $69 a month adding a 25gb will bring it to a total of $89.

  • Has anyone been able to port over from Circles.Life??

  • If you're on boost currently, can you buy this, get a cheap Vodafone Sim, port to that when your current plan expires, and then port back into boost after the Vodafone one activates? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time or anything?

    • Have you used a Vodafone Sim recently as port through? I used them a lot years ago when they were free in-store but I stopped as they started requiring you to choose/pay for a plan on activation! If you can activate it without recharging that's awesome time to stock up while they are $1 I guess haha

      • Oh no, can someone confirm there is no longer a Vodafone $2 sim? What other $2 sim companies I can port out to and then port back in to boost?

        • +1

I can confirm that $2 Vodafone SIM is no longer an option. Tried to activate it yesterday and it was asking for me to load a minimum $10 recharge as well. Ended up just using $5 Aldi SIMs instead.

        • +1

Can also use Coles $2 SIM (Optus) which can activate without recharging. Choose Recharge Later at step 5. http://colesmobile.com.au/support. Ported from Telstra post-paid today this way.

  • Can i put one of these into a USB dongle then connect to my modem (DSL-AC68U) and cancel my home nbn internet?

    • Don’t see how. I’m not seeing a SIM capacity on DSL-AC68U. I’ve used it on Aircard 810s

  • +1

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but Kogan are doing this:

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…

    $334.40 for 486 GB

    It’s on Vodafone network.

I’m getting 140 mbps. With Telstra I was only getting 70mbps.

    • +1

ymmv - depends on tower locations and congestion.

  • Just to double check, we can’t buy this pack from OW and use it to recharge existing boost prepaid plan??

  • +5

My bad. Just a little bit late. OW changed the price to $250.

    • Oh no. Was just about to leave for officeworks

  • or you can get a Lycamobile Plan for same sort of money with 30 GB data per month
    https://www.lycamobile.com.au/en/bundle/medium/

    • that's 28 gb per 30 days not per month.
28 day plans have 13 months in a year.

      • -1

So it works out to $273 per year for 30 GB per 28 days.. far better value than 18.4 GB/28 days for Boost plan.. and yes Lyca is 30 GB per 28 days, it is clearly stated in the link provided. And at once, you only have to pay for 6 months, is an ongoing deal so you do not have to wait for specials when time for next renewal.

  • I've 2 of these pre-paid SIMs and both of them tend to grab 1-2 bars of reception close to the CBD (Inner west) as well as North East suburbs. Absolutely terrible reception. Reception unchanged using either the iPhone SE or OnePlus 7.

  • Finally got Telstra over the phone to change from postpaid to prepaid (took 5 mins with confirmation) then popped in the boost sim > called boost( 10 min wait time to spk to an agent) and she did the changeover in another 5 mins or so. Waiting for another 15min (told me to wait for an hr) to restart the phone and it my number should be rolled over.

  • Has anyone ported over from Kogan ever iv been with them for years now, but i just pay monthly, not locked in for a year. I'm interested in this offer, just wondering if id be able to keep my number or not.

    • +2

Yeah. Plenty people use Kogan to Sim hop back onto this.

      • thank you ill try it out:)

        • I'm currently on Telstra not so porting to Kogan; then porting back to Telstra.
