Mothers Professional Wheel Cleaner is a biodegradable cleaning concentrate for factory/OEM wheels and hubcaps, including painted, clear coated, colour coated and chrome. Professional Wheel Cleaner does not contain hydrofluoric, sulphuric or phosphoric acids, making it safer than conventional acid cleaners. Capacity 1 gallon.

Recommended dilution for general purpose 1:10

  Why? The description makes it sound fairly safe, but it's surely better to not put anything down the drain. It's not like anyone should care about dirty wheels

  Does this turn purple as it reacts with brake dust, similar to the Borden’s Own Wheely Clean?

  I use Bowdens own and bought a 5l for $60 when on special if I recall.

  But when you do the concentration comparison (with no dilution indicated for Bowdens), you get 37.85l of sprayable Mothers Professional Wheel Cleaner ($44) for the equivalent of 5l of Bowden's Own Wheely Clean V2 (for $60 or currently for $165)

  Might be best to look at Mothers in future for value for money.

  At this price, you wouldn't be too worried about wasting a bit each time due to overspray.
