[eBay Plus] Apple AirPods (2nd Gen) with Charging Case $99 Delivered @ Titan Gear eBay

23853
PMRL84

Looks like a second round for the Airpods. Starting at 10am 5pm on 17 June.

Most likely three drops again - 10am, 2pm, 6pm.

The same promo code was used twice for the Airpods Pro for $249 deal. Most likely the same code from the 1/6 will be used for this deal.

For those after TLOU2 tomorrow at 10am, I'm guessing that it will be this item.

Mod Update 16/06: Appears to be only a single 5pm Drop for the Apple Airpods - 900 units available according to banner from email

      • I did that in one of the previous drops; was in too much of a hurry. Luckily Titan Gear refunded it, and I got the refund back a week later.

Wait, same problems as others. Says I got it and now refreshing says "Your payment didn't go through, so the order was cancelled. Please pay for this item again."

the item is OOS. 100% BS. I will neg every eBay Plus scam from now on !!!

  • +2

Mine shows up pending with an order total of $253 I (profanity) up right

    • +1

coupons always show full price but order history will show what you actually paid

    • That's what was showing on mine and then the order disappeared altogether.

    • my total is $99

  • +1

Wow. 900 sold in a minute.

45 seconds of which I spent in a "payment being processed" screen, before receiving the cancellation message.

Might be a successful promo, but they've taught me that I need to abandon their sister company paypal. Message received.

Yet another in a long, long line of ebay clusterf#cks…

    • Mine was also processing for a good 10-15 seconds on eBay for Paypal payment, but all payments would have done that (including CC)

      • They don't normally. It's typically 5 seconds max for paypal one touch.

Their capacity to handle the amount of transactions which lotteries such as this toss up, compromise the integrity of such promos.

  • +2

I got an order confirmation, but no email and nothing in the history?? haha

    • Scroll down further to the "Returns and cancelled orders" section. That's how I found out the "good" news.

  • +6

So my Order Successful has become Order Unsuccessful. Can we bring the ACCC into this?

    • Unfortunately I don't think they are going to help you.

  • +1

that is rubbish, i alway asking my self why i use ebay ,
i have got this merssage (This order was not successful)
    even i paid with paypal

  • +3

I don't even think they have 900 units, more than half of the order got cancelled, shame on you ebay!

    • My thoughts exactly. They show "successful" for the ones that they can't fulfill, then automatically cancel it.

  • +5

wow seriously how to report ebay for doing this ? how come purchase confirmed and then cancelled ??? dodgy af

  • +1

So processing payment on cc. Said was paid in my purchase history. When I refreshed it was gone. Wish I had taken a screen shot.

  • +1

GG looks like paypal was too slow, no airpods today :(

    • +1

Screw Scambay. If you really want them go and buy them somewhere else as FeeBay doesn't deserve our business.

  • +1

I saved $15 on postage but did not get one

  • WTF!

This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount. !

    • +2

      Join the club!

  • +4

Thanks heaps OP! Your post was the difference between my 12yo getting the only thing she wanted for her birthday next week and getting something else!
The window lasted 3 seconds from 5pm if anyones interested 😂

    • Did you get the email and does it show in purchase history now? Lots of people who though they got it subsequently had it cancelled/disappear. I’m trying to figure out if there was a glitch and this happened to everyone or it only happened me me and other unlucky people…

      • Yep cancelled 😥

  • -8

Hopefully most of the people who have been complaining this month about AirPods managed to score this time. I landed two of these from this one event for myself and someone else, if anyone was on the ball still can't get them and was able to then I assume it's got to do with network, so maybe wait for NBN. That's what I did.

    • Not necessarily this time. Why are they randomly cancelling orders?

    • I managed to grab one on the app using 4G lol

      • Did you get the email and does it show in purchase history now? Lots of people who though they got it subsequently had it cancelled/disappear. I’m trying to figure out if there was a glitch and this happened to everyone or it only happened me me and other unlucky people…

        • yes, originally it said "payment pending", now it shows "paid but not sent". received the order confirmation email as well

  • Grr - order not successful here too.
I'm confused - so they sold more than 900 and the later ones are being cancelled? But the sold quantity is 2600 which is exactly 900 more than the 1700 it was at 4:59PM.

  • Seemed to have sold out in 20 seconds…

  • +1

Another shit-show but people will continue to upvote

  • +1

Said was paid in my purchase history. When I refreshed it was gone. I got an order confirmation, but no email and nothing in the history?
ANd another message shows me that This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount.

    • +4

      Same here

  • +1

yeah did anyone actually get this. Mine says order cancelled cause order cost not included ? like WTF ?

  • +1

same as more than half the people here.
Pending Payment, then order not successful, then order cancelled. Like WTF…seriously…

  • +2

I thought it went through ok, but now it's cancelled.
The screenshot I had was still saying payment processing now it says "Your payment didn't go through, so the order was cancelled. Please pay for this item again."

  • Payment not successful WTF??? Hopefully it's a technical glitch and they will fix this.

    • Hopefully it's a technical glitch and they will fix this.

I dont know if they will. Similar issue but at less smaller scale happened during the A70 sale and not sure if eBay did anything about it?

  • -2

First time participating in this kind of event, and succeeded! it's definitely doable with 900 unit stock and 40+ seconds working time. Just follow the guidelines… Never tried the previous events with 200 unit/10+ seconds working time which seems a bit too hard.

    • Did you get the email and does it show in purchase history now? Lots of people who though they got it subsequently had it cancelled/disappear. I’m trying to figure out if there was a glitch and this happened to everyone or it only happened me me and other unlucky people…

      • yep now showing under Returns and cancelled orders

      • Edit: Yes mine order was cancelled even after I received the "Thanks! Your order was placed".

      • I'm fine, it shows in purchase history, the order page says Estimated delivery Monday 22 Jun 2020.

What is your timestamp? Mine is 17 Jun 2020 17:00:22 AEST (from PayPal)

So I hopped onto eBay Live Chat…

We'll be with you in about 36 minutes.

    • Well you beat me by 14 minutes - "We'll be with you in about 50 minutes."

    • +1

Please let us know the outcome, thanks!

    • how do you get onto ebay live chat? I cant find it :(

    • So that was a waste of time…

      Responses from eBay Live Chat:

      • just checked it here and your order was unseuccesful because the item was already out of stock by the time that the system was processing your payment. Orders related to these deals are chronologically processed
      • thousands of aussies were eyeing on this drop but please dont worry Richard because if you may have missed on this drop, there will still be similar or better drops possibly for the same item

When asked about the Purchase History:

      • the time shown in the sold records is the time when our system has finalised the order but it doesnt mean that hte order was placed on that exact time
      • That's #BS at the lowest/highest level. An online store like eBay cancels a customer's order because they failed to process the order, and then they have the guts to assign the stock to some other customer.

Heck, mine even says "Your payment didn't go through, so the order was cancelled. Please pay for this item again.", yet they can't wait for me to properly pay for the item again?

  • +2

The time stamp in sold history changed. Looks like first lot got cancelled and they run it again 5:06-5:08.
    Mine got cancelled as well!

    • +4

So much bullshit from eBay. Telling you your order was successful then cancelling them all. I wonder if this was intentional to stop people scripting it?

      • Probably that, or they wanted the deal to "last" longer so news.con.au can have a field day reporting it.

    • +2

Due to their ineptness, they should really organise to offer the promotional product to those who had their orders cancelled

  • +3

Can't believe it. Definitely had the order go through, used the same CC I always use with eBay and have no issues and then the order disappears. What an absolute joke.

  • +1

This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount.

    Here we go again…

  • Luckily got a screenshot for price protection purposes. If anyone wants it LMK.

    • how do you use it for price protection purposes? do you go ahead and buy a pair from another seller or something?

      • +1

I bought it at RRP a few weeks ago. As long as I show evidence of a lower price from an Australian retailer (including ebay), they usually approve it.

        • Which price protection card?

          Might try this next time

    • Yes please! Bought a pair last week to claim the diff today

    • I have the screenshot too but how to do we claim it?

    • I also tried to order it but my payment got into pending then subsequently cancelled. Any chance you can forward me that screenshot too? Thanks.

  • I can't believe that I scored it this time! Quite happy after couple of disappointments during the previous occasions.

  • +1

Thought I finally got them it said order successful, refreshed, and "This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount."

  • +3

I was originally successful, now this:

This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount.

Judging by the Sold History on the item now showing the last sold at 17:06, and the amount of people impacted, eBay has messed up, and our allocated AirPods have been returned to the pool for sale. It was originally sold out at 17:00.

    Hopefully eBay will address this.

    • +3

eBay isn't going to fix this. They are losing maybe $130 per purchase inc. express shipping, so they have already lost $117k for this stunt.

There's no way they're gonna double their losses here.

      • They did last time when everyone got emailed about compromised accountS and had their purchases cancelled

  • Finally got it after failing so many past eBay events. Very nice

  • +10

So we all were in the first 500 to order but eBay's payment processing system couldn't handle a promotion and as a result other people managed to score them when they were put back into stock at 5:05-5:08

What a joke. Waste of $49.

    • +1

      mine says -

      sale date: 5:00pm
      paid on: 5:04pm

so I assume the purchase history is showing the payment time

      • Righto, thanks for clarifying. It must have updated to paid time afterwards

    • -3

nah I purchased at 5:00:22 and it's not cancelled. Still there, and Estimated delivery Monday 22 Jun 2020, and funds debited from PayPal.

    • Well let’s hope eBay decides to ship them out to those who missed out because of this malfunction. Last year after the “Compromised Accounts” issue they did make it good.

Also is there anyway to confirm that 500 were sold after they were cycled back for sale? I thought the page only showed the last 100 sales?

      • Buckley's…

    • +5

You actually paid $49 for ebay Plus….? 🤣🤣🤣

    • My order started processing in the first few seconds after going live, but in the end also got cancelled.
Ebay's system could have tried to re-process (issue was definitely not on our side).

I cancelled my plus membership - lucky I got credit when I signed up, but will definitely not pay for this to renew.

  • +3

DIDNT THIS HAPPEN LAST YEAR? - EXCEPT THEY SAID IS WAS DUE TO COMPROMISED ACCOUNTS?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/471174

    • +1

no that was completely different. last year everyone got that mistaken email.

this year only SOME people got cancelled.

  • Was so close, in the first 30 seconds, but was dumb enough to unlink my PayPal prior and not put through a transaction with my eBay linked credit card… Turns out my CVV and expiry date weren't correct so I just missed it. Oh well.

    • +1

Don’t worry about it too much. I was even faster than you but still didn’t get it. I’d say less than 15 seconds, clicked the purchase button, it loaded for a while then timed out. Tried again, sold out. The AirPods are still in my cart :/

    • Well this time round they seems priorities paybal🤣
successful order with CC got cancelled.

  • +2

Got 9 minutes to wait on eBay chat. Anyone want me to pass on a comment?

    • in chat now and basically getting "bad luck you missed out"

    • +1

well, I am chatting with them right now and they are hopeless. Saying we understand your frustration but your payment failed and item is no longer available

      • +8

Q: LOL, what kind of online shopping site says "Order Successful" when the customer's "payment failed"???
        A: eBay

      • +1

Question is why the payment failed - surely the credit/debit card used has not been declined

    • +5

I would but it would probably be all censored on Ozb.

    • +1

Like commenters said just going to get a machine answer

      • +2

Tomorrow we might get a real response. But yeah for the next few hours you’ll just get the standard lines until management develops a strategy

        • +2

I tried chatting twice for the A70 deal, once when it just got cancelled, then again the next day when it came back in stock. First day bs "was we can't do anything, it is sold out now…" next day BS "we assure you it was sold out when you bought it, that's why the payment failed…"

  • +1

I didn't even get to try this time as I completely forgot.. :(

I've been thinking, these kinds of sales, like door busters, can often kindle negative sentiments among consumers primary because it takes the sense of "control" away from the consumer. In these kinds of sales, the vendor is really in complete control from start to finish..

    • Yeah it’s more like a game of chance than a proper sale. A sale that lasts less than 10 seconds imo isn’t really a sale, more like a competition.

    • +1

on the other hand there are 900 people who are probably resubbing to eBay plus for another year, and probably 2000 people who are like "damn I missed out, gonna try again next time", and probably 10000 people who find this out later are like "Wow, what? $99 airpods? I gotta join ebay plus"
