It's Nintendo. They artificially keep prices at RRP and rarely have discounts. This also drives up second hand market prices. Has been happening forever.
Yeah I know, some things just never change unfortunately. I guess people will still buy it because it's Nintendo, but I really wish they'd discount older titles
On past systems they have with Player's Choice and Nintendo Selects, however Nintendo only roll those out once the console has clearly past it's peak so we might be waiting a few more years with Switch not to mention on Wii U and 3DS they never added Mario Kart and Nintendo Australia didn't add as many games as EU/NA.
Artificially??
Their in demand. That's not artificial.
The eshop has at least 2 sales every year that includes a flat discount on all first party titles, plus eshop credit is regularly available with a 10% discount. Anyone paying full price is lazy.
Oh the usual comments about Nintendo's higher prices….
Yes, the company should sell these games at half price purely because what?
Their dominating charts for years, everyone will still buy them years later… So Nintendo should just give up $30-40 because?
It's not Nintendo's fault people buy their consoles for these games…. It's like Apple, if people stopped buying them they'd have to decrease their price….
But obviously anyone that wants to sell these second hand won't complain that their games aren't worth a happy meal too…
Kinda the reason why I buy apple mobiles. They contribute towards my next upgrade.
they hold their value well. I usually get back around 40-50% back when i sell them towards my new phone.
I noticed Samsung drop to about 20-30%
Gamesmen are a rip off, even with eBay's 15% off, it still works out to be $62 or so per game.
If you can wait a bit longer, its possible Prime Day (15th to 17th July) will be better. Last year BOTW Was $51.75 and MK 8 was $46.50
As great as these games are, it's just wild that launch games for Switch at $62 each is considered a deal.
