This is not the Super model just be aware.

    • Overseas stock as well. Free shipping with Amazon Prime.

That would be a deal, this isn't.

  • The $10 coupon is targeted

    • Are there any difference in branding, or just re-badging?

I have stopped building PC 10 years ago and just started again. Things changed so much.

      • Not really sure what the difference is. I'd have to be convinced to pay more for the same part. Inbuilt overclocking isn't that persuasive. Fan design could be worth more.

Different brand, so different PCB design, heatsink, fan and size. In usage, performance will be mostly the same, noticeable differences are temp/noise at same clock. I'd just go with the cheapest available, unless there are lots of bad reviews for a particular unit and/or the price of the better models are within 5%. Any more than that then you'll get very close to the price of next tier.

@Kingduytan: Warranty is probably one of the biggest diffrentiators along with the custom cooling designs. Also, smaller tier manufacturers get lower quality binned chips which won't perform as well and will have less headroom for overclocking. Real world difference probably negligable though.

Same GPUs but each manufacturer puts their own spin on it. Different fans, heat sinks, RBG etc. The Galax is a cheaper implementation so it's not right to say that it's cheaper at HVN. There are not the same product.

        • Interesting…

I highly doubt the real world performance will be noticeable.

More thinking of durability of the parts (e.g. fan)… I used to have fans failing on GPUs.

            • @freesteakknives: Hm… i wonder how people choose which one to go for… they all look the same on paper (marginal benchmark score diff that is unlikely noticeable).

As well how diff manufacturer justify charging a higher premium.

              • @[Deactivated]: I usually search for reviews on the temp/noise comparison for the card I'd like to buy. Also search around for common issue. Most cards can be undervolt + OC to run at much lower temp/noise than stock while maintaining performance or better.

      • There is a difference in brands but having said that, some brands are changing for good/ worse.
For example, Powercolour/ Asrock/ Galax used to be a complete rock bottom tier back 10 years ago and before.
Now sometimes even an Asus "STRIX" is not any better.
You gotta do a small amount of research for any brand and model to see if it's any good.

      • Also consider the size of the case. You might to do a small case build for instance so you will have to find a card to suit

Except it isn’t? $539 + $14.95 = $553.95. Make a new Amazon account and get a month’s free Prime trial for feee delivery.

You’ll also probably get it quick than HN - plus you’re comparing different cards.

      • Thanks, I hadn't considered the delivery charge. NewEgg one below is probably best.

By the way, if you are going through the effort of creating a new Amazon account and signing up for Prime trial again, you could probably also grab harvey norman discounted gift cards too. According to the wiki, Redeem Your Gift Card does 7.5% off.

Signing up for a new Amazon account (just using the ‘+whatever’ email trick) basically takes a few minutes. Plus not giving any money to Gerry Harvey would be worth it even if it took a year to make a new account :-)

          • @Nousernamehere: Sure but it likewise takes a few minutes to grab a gift card. I just went through to checkout on a $500 egift card.
Fair enough about not giving him money ;)

      • Probably quicker picking up in HN. I have been having alot of delays in receiving local AU parcels in the last few weeks. Be it AustPost (probably better than other ones) or Fastway.

        • You can’t pickup though, it’s delivery only as it’s sent ‘direct from supplier’.

    • I thought i'd never see the day!

    • Did anyone consider the video outputs? The Amazon MSI has more useful ports (3x 1.4 DP and 1 HDMI) than the HN Galax.

$506 delivered for the EVGA KO model.

    • NGl posting an alright offer and getting the OZBargain community to better it seems to be a great approach.

Love the OzBargain community. So much good info from reading the comments!

    • Look at the video outputs. The Amazon MSI has more useful ports (3x 1.4 DP and 1 HDMI). I use all 4 Video outs on my card. Modern monitors don’t use DVI anymore.

  • Why 8GB version so much more expensive?

  • If you can avoid buying a graphics card now you should.. 1) prices are up due to COVID19 and 2) new graphics cards are just around the corner. Plus this is the older, non-super model.

    • @NuclearWessels How far around the corner do you reckon?
Currently getting bits for first ever build and have case and cpu ordered.

      • Both Nvidia and AMD are expected to make some announcements within the next few weeks.

Actual release may not be until Aug/Sept though.

Just curious how's Amazon US warranty like?

  • Makes the recent RX 5700 XT recent deals look effing good!!!

  • This, or $50 1050Ti?
