Not really volunteer "work" as such, but I've been a regular blood plasma donor for the past few years.
I volunteer to do the dishes at home..
Not really, I don't get a choice :/
SES - road crash rescue, search and rescue plus flood/storm temporary repairs. RFS - putting out fires. I also help out with a charity housing group that builds emergency shelters for fire victims. If you live in a small place you've got to give something back or nothing ever gets done.
It’s the same in a big place, but less visible.
SES vol too. We are metro Melbourne unit, so not a RCR unit. We’re out this week searching in the night for young Will. What a fantastic news. Makes it absolutely worth it.
I've found service the best treatment for PTSD. You'd be amazed at how many veterans are in the orange.
That was an amazing story - must have been so rewarding to be part of the search and knowing he was found safe.
Rspca and awl :)
My partner volunteers at vinnies op shops whilst the kids are at school
Reptile rescues.
I seed my torrents indefinitely.
All Linux distros though…
Never thought about this, I guess it actually works as a volunteering service? I only use public torrents (Linux ISOs of course) so it only seems fair to give back what I got for free from random people.
Especially those (available as public domain of course) niche… adult movies that have very little seeders.
I can say I have been volunteering for years now then!Of course, why didn't of that. Adding to my resume.
Community service volunteer
Guide Dogs.
I volunteer my time posting unhelpful comments on Australia's foremost bargains sharing website.
Graffiti removal for the local council.
Cleaning up your own work as directed by the magistrate?
Church
As in helping your church or attending the service? The former would count, the latter would not
As in helping.
Currently we've been filming for online services. Gonna help with filming tomorrow again. But also help at normal services anyway. Modern/bigger churches need a surprising number of volunteers. Band, sound/production/media, greeters, kids/creche, hospitality/cafe, and new decisions. Yes there are some churches which are growing.
I've been a volunteer firefighter with the CFA for 20 years, and a volunteer learner driver mentor with the TAC L2P program for the last couple of years.
Yass L2P is the best, I got back on the road with my learner for the first time today after restrictions eased. I also do work with other not-for-profit groups like my Multi-Faith Network.
