    Any details?

The cure for covid will be out by the time you receive these gift cards

    • +2

how long are we talking about? 2 weeks?

  • At times ebay gift cards are available either at discount or with bonus rewards points at Colworths.

    • +2

No sale in Woolies for 13+ months.

  • I bought one $100 amazon card because I couldn't see if I could buy multiple. Am I allowed to buy an extra 3 or 4? Can I buy them in one transaction? Thanks

    • You can buy up to 10 cards in one transaction and cashreward had successfully tracked all. I'm not sure about shopback but shoud be ok. the only limition is from au post, maximum 10 cards in one transaction.

      • +3

I bought 5 x $50 last time, later was told the cashback was not tracked. I am not doing it again.

        • I've never had any problems with tracking when I use the ShopBack app to make the final purchase.

The app has a built-in browser.

You just need to make sure to clear your cart first before you enter the ShopBack app & then go back to the seller's website.

    • +1

If you buy more than $200, you will need to call Auspost to activate them
      it's a painful long wait

  • +1

can you stack gift card + shopback on amazon?

    • +4

Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for cashback.

    • +1

The bigger question mark is what shopback or cashrewards will be applicable on your purchase on amazon to begin with. I’ve learnt not to get my hopes up since they changed the categories and earn rates.

  • +8

Never get Amazon gift cards from Auspost. If any of them cannot be used/activated, they will ask you to send it back at your own risk. I have $200 worth of card sitting with me to send back to them but I am afraid if it doesn't reach them, they will not issue me new cards :(

    • +25

It's sad that you can't trust Auspost to deliver to Auspost.

      • +3

Exactly. If I send by registered post, I loose all the saving.

    • FWIW, last time they were on promo on OzBargain, I grabbed a $50 one and had no issues.

    • +3

Last time this offer came up I bought 3x $50 Amazon cards. On arrival, 1 worked, 2 gave errors. My guess was they hadn't activated them.

I rang and they told me to post back to their reply paid address. I put them in a regular envelope - didn't bother with registered post or anything like that. I did keep a photocopy of the cards I was sending back.

About 2 weeks later, I received replacement cards by registered post. Errors on both. But this time when phoning, I gave them the serial numbers over the phone and they got them working. Don't know what was different that let them fix it over the phone - maybe luck of the draw on who I spoke to?

      • Yes, same thing happened with me. They fixed few but asked to send others by post. They should update process to make it convenient for customers.

    • I had to return a $100 Amazon giftcard. No reply for weeks until I inquired and was told a replacement card had been sent. This one worked.

    • Weird, they must not have activated properly.

I've had 5x $100, then 10x $100 in previous orders and they activated fine.

  • +5

Phone them up and they usually can activate them on the spot. I had 6 out of 8 cards not working last time and they were all fixed up.

    • +3

Even if they do that is it worth the effort? I spent 30 mins on the phone to them when they had 10% off ebay cards last year and had to phone to activate them. I also then had to raise a missing cashback claim with shopback as that didn't track either.

Unfortunately it's nearly the only option now for ebay. I haven't seen Woolworths or Coles do a discount on them this year.

  • +2

Thanks. First time in a while I’ve ever been able to get my order in before they’re all sold out. Must be because it’s 3am :)

  • +1

4 is good for Amazon. Ebay I normally stock when it's 10

    • Can't remember the last time it was >4% for ebay

      • Me neither.

      • I think other than those super deals with PayPal gifts, 4%’is pretty good. Doubt we will see those huge discounts again :(

      • Actually I recall a woolworths dollars one like.. two years ago? that was 10% in points.

He/She will be waiting a LONG time, if not forever, for that to come around again.

  • +9

It's high time Aus Post should start selling e-cards instead of physical cards. It will be more efficient even for them.

    • Then it would put themselves out of a job!

      • Not really.. I assume that they make commission on the card value. Way the cards get delivered to consumers doesn't matter. If anything, the stores and Aus Post will probably save so much of cost (of manufacturing cards and mailing them) for the same commissions and hence improve their respective net profit.

  • I ordered some gift cards from last sale and it did take a while to arrive. ActuallyI almost forgot about it then it arrived.

  • +1

    Anyone else get this?

Your recent order is on hold while we review the payment details. We'll be in touch once the review is complete.*

If you have questions about your order, check out our Help & support page. If you still need help, call us on 13 POST (13 7678). We're available Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm AEST (except national public holidays).

    • How much did you buy?

    • Presumably something about your credit card or browser or something tripped up a fraud check. Most payment companies have algorithms to decide whether to accept, reject or manually check payments, and most online merchants make use of them so they don't get ripped off or hit by charge backs. Gift cards are a classic money laundering target.

Assuming you're legit, it shouldn't take long for them to check and approve the order.

      • I'm pretty sure I'm legit! :)

Also, they've taken the $100 from my Amex and shopback has tracked. Just no confirmation from auspost.

    • Same for me. Seems strange.

    • Yep me too. I paid with CC, weird, i even logged in. Didn't happen on two previous orders.

      • I logged in too.

        • did you get yours yet?

Mine arrived and I didn't have to call to activate, which is great.

Westfield gift card has a $5.95 transaction fee now ?

    • Most likely because it is an eftpos card

    • +1

Yep. Never used to be a charge on these. Now makes them unworkable in my view.

  • +7

So effectively 3.6% off gift cards as it is the amount after GST.

For Amazon prefer to get 3% immedietly through Suncorp

    • +4

So effectively 3.6% off gift cards as it is the amount after GST

I bought a $100 ebay gift card, and my pending cashback is shown as $4.00.

    • I personally find the limit crap of $500 mthly !
It is 4% no GST on gift cards .

    • There isn't GST on giftcards.

My shopback estimate is 4% of the face value.

Stocking up Amazon cards for Prime Day

    • Hi When is Prime day ?

  • thx got some ebay… $100 still in stock after 7 hours…

  • Can you use Amazon gift cards to pay Amazon Prime?

    • +2

This option is not available in Australia.

  • Would I be right in saying that the expiry date for the ebay cards is 1 year from issue?
    Reference

    • +2

Gift cards purchased from 31 March 2018 expire 3 years after the date of issue, regardless of the expiry term stated on the card. Gift cards purchased before this date are valid for 12 months from the date of issue

      • Thanks. Evidently I can't read ^^;

  • Debating if I want to stock up on amazon given only 1% more than Suncorp benefits which is readily available and sometimes even offers a 5% discount in the past. Hmm…

    • +2

Yeah, the 1% extra is not worth it for Amazon.

I feel much safer buying from SunCorp because both the discount and gift card is received immediately.

Also, you can buy a gift card for the exact amount of your purchase. (I don't like leaving gift cards with balances. Too much chance of me forgetting to use them.)

Wish SunCorp would also sell eBay gift cards.

      • I don't like leaving gift cards with balances. Too much chance of me forgetting to use them.

But they become your default payment, so it just automatically takes it off your GC balance everytime you shop, unless you manually override it.

    • +1

I'm debating 3 parts Amazon to 1 part Ebay for my order .
      Surprised the $100's still here , I've hit multiple max of 19 X $100 cards .

  • Cheers. Got transaction confirmation within an hour of purchase.

  • +2

Well just calculated 1% rebate, on an ebay transaction that should be 3% for Shopback.
Website is designed to build their business, not service their customers, so being run around in circles.
The issue I have with these companies is that they should 'add value' to the transaction chain, however they are the polar opposite and are an extra frustrating cog.
Prefer the source merchant simply offered direct rewards / better prices.
Where do the 'missed' and 'miscalculated' transaction monies go?
Not in my pocket, nor yours.

  • up to 4% . How do we know for sure ebay gift card is 4% or even at least 3% cashback? Can't see a clear t&c in Shopback's page. on the page left hand side. Group B cashback rate is only 1.5% , and i think giftcards fall on group B?

  • They not e-gift card are they ?

  • Got automatically rejected for cashback the last time they had this sale, filed for missing cashback and it was also automatically rejected.

Better get video evidence this time.

  • +1

Noted that AustPos often activates only 1 out of the multiple cards within the same order. It happened twice to me for the Amazon gift cards.

    • I've had a huge amount of Ebay cards not activated like 3% .
      Amazon about 1% .
I didn't know it was so difficult to activate cards till Aus Post .
All were max 19 card orders so have to disagree with 1 being activated in an order !
The cards I have found have been randomly scattered all over the place .

  • How long do these take to come?

    • It used to take 10-14 days previously…now, who knows?

    • +1

mine arrived today. and I didn't have to call up to activate!

  • Thanks for the post. Ordered via Shopback iOS app, and the cashback tracking is already confirmed at the correct amount.

  • Showing as 'Out of stock' now.

  • Is this still active? Shopback still saying up to 3.75% cashback across gift cards until 11/06 :/ https://www.shopback.com.au/aus-post-online

    • I ordered some last night which tracked at 4%.

Today it shows 3.75% valid until end of 10th June (now at 8pm, it says 4 hours remaining so definitely should still be valid).
I ordered more around 4pm today and they tracked at 1.5%, going through the dispute process now… I assume they will pull some fineprint from somewhere so they can decline it.

  • Watch out on these Auspost gift card orders.
Looks like they lost my gift cards in Melbourne (meant to come to Syd) and they said I have to wait 3 weeks before they can action any refund.
    ETA on tracking was 11/06.
