Would this offer be available to new Prime Accounts still within the trial period ?

That is, could I create a new Prime Account, with 30 day free trial, and then watch some random Prime Video & then get $10 ?

    • I joined yesterday (trial) and don't see the offer. I have a feeling it works for full accounts only but not sure.

Edit: Immediately after posting this, I clicked the deal link again and it displayed the banner mentioned, lol.

—> The deal is displayed to trial accounts but I still don't see the credit deducted when ordering from an amazon full-filled item.

Edit2: No luck. Even watched a full video. Unless the item being sold by 'amazon commercial services' doesn't count? I used the amazon.com.au filter and it says "Ships from and sold by Amazon AU." but in the checkout it says " Sold by:Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd ".

Yeah, my experience is the same.

Created a new account. Joined Prime 30 day trial. Clicked the banner & watched a video, but haven't received any credit.

  • Targeted?

    • Actually found it via Google. I googled "Amazon to rent movies" and this result came up. Clicked on this and got the page in the OP link.

      • It might be because I'm logged in to Amazon via app on my phone & have watches Prime Vid, but when I click on the link nothing opens. I'll try on the laptop

        • I just tried doing the same Google search in incognito mode and not signed into Amazon. Had the same page display.

          • @Taegukgi: Worked fine on my laptop- thanks Dealbot, love your work by the way. Thanks for all the great deals!

Once you get your $10 credit don't forget to combine with this deal & should be able to save $20 on a $39 spend https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/538670

    • Thanks for the reminder

      • Yeah, I posted that deal and still forgot about it this morning when buying a bunch of stuff VIA THE APP - but i bought them seperately and not in one bundle…and forgot to add the code. Forehead slap!

  • I have prime, watched now for the first time
tried to checkout after with $15 worth of stuff sold and shipped by amazon and no credit applied

    • They should send you an email re the application of the promotional credit

    • Did you click on the banner at the top of the link when it opens? The header says "get your $10 credit" and it takes you to Prime. Wonder if you need to do that?

      • yes I did this I clicked on the banner and it took me automatically to Prime Video

        • Yeah, I've just checked & I didnt get credit either, but I have already watched lots of Prime Videos already.

  • Similar promo was run back in July last year so I'd imagine a number of people won't be able to get this one.

    • If you are new member?

    • Yeah I think I got the credit last time

  • +1

Hmm I've watched Prime a few times last month till now and don't have anything, guess it might be new and won't work for existing members who watched a while ago

  • worked for me though.

    • did you get an email about the promo?

      • +1

no i didn't. it also worked with subscribe and save discount on top of it so i just paid $1.8 something for $14 item

    • Have you watched a Prime video previously?

      • no i haven't. watched after OP post

        • +1

          couple of minutes

    • how long did you stream the video for ?

    • you might have gotten the credit from a different promo as Amazon rep confirmed such promotion does not exist currently

  • If you don't have Prime and also used your trial, then you are not eligible?

  • +2

amazon chat rep told me that eligible customers will receive an email within 7 days about the promotional credit

  • i am currently on Prime trial extended into month 2

  • +1

Don't forget you only get 10 years to use the credit. Don't leave it too late.

  • Opening the prime video site for 5+ seconds makes my DVI monitor go rainbow static. Anyone else getting this?

  • Main question should be whether you need to have prime for this?

  • I was told by amazon rep that this is an expired offer. For Your First Prime Stream July 8-16th 2019 @ Amazon AU

    • yup told the same

      • However. I argued that there was no expiry date showing on the offer page, so they just gave me extra free month prime as they cannot give me $10 credit. Well it's better nothing I suppose, so I still give this deal a plus.

        • they told me they'll get back to me in 48 hours :(

          • +1

@barozgain: I wouldn't count on them giving you the $10 credit though, if they were they would have given it to you then. You can always negotiate free month prime or free delivery on your next purchase or something for your troubles. Hope you will get it :)

    • Yup, same here. I remember seeing this awhile ago and asked them why I never received my credit.

04:49 PM AEST Jyothsna(Amazon): Hello, my name is jyothsna. I’ll be glad to help you today.

      Don't see any date
04:51 PM AEST Jyothsna: And valid only for the customers who have streamed for the first time.
04:51 PM AEST Chappo: Yes, I remember seeing that before I did stream it for the first time
04:51 PM AEST Jyothsna: Yes we are aware of that.We have already informed to our business team.
04:52 PM AEST Jyothsna: We are working on it.That is a very old promotion.
04:53 PM AEST Chappo: So it's a case of too bad, so sad?
04:53 PM AEST Jyothsna: Im really about that.
04:53 PM AEST Chappo: Should just take the page down
04:53 PM AEST Jyothsna: May i know if you have been provided with that link by someone else ?
04:54 PM AEST Jyothsna: Yes we are working on removing that banner from the site.

Doesn't seem to work for me

  • I noticed I had a random $10 credit when I purchased something the other day and I applied it I wonder if it was from this

  • +1

I was just over the phone with Amazon Australia prime video support and they said it's a mistake that it's on the website and this offer expired in 2019.

  • +1

    Doesn't seem working…

  • Didn't work for me

  • confirmed with another rep and it is indeed an error on their website. the promo expired in 2019. however, the rep made an exception and said he will credit me the amount, as the previous rep told me the wrong info

    • This is so cooked

      why they credit you
      reject @bang1 and I

      • why they credit you
        reject @bang1 and I

They must be a better negotiator. :-)

Negotiation is an art. There's lots of resources available on how to get better price deals.

Do a Google search for something like "how to negotiate better deals".
