most of the cruise are mix, it is hard to said certain cruise ship for young people. but there are some cruise that don't accept kids, they only after mature people.
what we can categories this ship similar like hotel, i can said p&O is 3 star, then royal caribean is 4.
it is depend what you are after, bigger ship means more entertainment inside, such as royal caribean allure of the seas where you have ice skating ring, rock climbing, 3d cinema, etc.You say good for people 20-30 …but what are you looking for??
If you were a bit more specific it may help narrow down the options.
We have only sailed with Princess and are very happy with them.
For us the quality of the accomodation, the food and just about everything else is tops by us (we are over 60 ). They were voted the most popular line in Aust this year.
There is always a mix of ages onboard but no 4am discos or excessive drinking etc.. (raging?)
From what I see most cruisers are the older people so they are difficult to avoid.P&O is the one for raging but that also puts others off.
Carnival Lines is sending a ship here soon that was advertised at a younger market. Check the online cruise sales sites for more info on that.basically looking for a surfers paradise version of a cruise ship in a nut shell :)
""basically looking for a surfers paradise version of a cruise ship in a nut shell""
?? says very little?? no meter maids or schoolies on a cruise ship. LOL
are you looking for 4am disco type ?? binge drinking?? dreamworld?? what???that doesn't exist on the cruise ship, if you want that type of party, better u hire a boat that can carter 20 people and do your own party on that boat
I went on a 12 night P&O cruise in July/August… though there were almost 2000 people on board there were less than 30 under 30's without children. We were told that the duration of the cruise is a huge determinant of ages of passengers… most young people don't have time to take 12 consecutive days for a cruise and so anything longer then 8/9 days tends to mainly be older people. Also, winter isn't good for 20s-30s - choose summer if you want to find more young people. The cruise before ours was a 29 night cruise, and we were told that a number of people on board had quit there jobs to go on it because they couldn't get the time off.
Royal Caribbean, Princess, forget P&O. You will be disappointed.
If you need a good price: valuespotters.com.auyou can't said like that, i have been with couple p&O, it is acceptable for me. remember, everyone got their own taste and budget, if you got only $600 budget / person and you wanna have 9 night cruise and you still wanna get $200 on board credit bonus, can u get with royal caribean or princess? the answer is no.
and it is depend on what entertainment that you after? 3d cinema, ice skating, or most of the time you just drinking in the pub. if most of the time you just drinking, you just waste your money. We have found that the quality lines like Princess are cheaper than the likes of P&O if you look around.
compare apple and apple mate, when princess do promotion, price at p&o not always do same promotion as well, but if they do promotion as well, can you do $50/day/person at princess and no tipping as well and you still get $100 bonus / cabin?
Just did 14 day @ $999 + $420 OBC with Princess! And the food is edible on Princess!
Those $50 day super specials with P&O are on the very old Pacific Sun.nope, i did jewel and pearl this year :)
I liked Celebrity a lot. Lots of people say Carnival but I found it really family-friendly (and this meant there were loads of kids)
Carnival depends on the itinerary - longer cruises tend to be family and retiree friendly (lots of kids and lots of motorised scooters). But a 3-4 day cruise to Mexico will be mostly younger people wanting to party.
Ah I'd gone on a longer cruise to Mexico. Maybe that's why.
check this as well http://www.eseacruising.com.au/info.php?cid=786&title=J135+-…
and you just need shopping around, most likely you will get something cheaper than that.
and this one only 659
http://www.bestcruises.com.au/cruise/display/23042?itinerary…Your price was the QUAD (4 to a room) price.
INSIDE IS FROM $979did anyone in here can read ur mind mate?
""did anyone in here can read ur mind mate?""
What do you mean?
You said P&O were cheaper… i'm just showing that they are not.i mean, i don't know that u booked with twin cabin only. i always booked quad cabin, and i calculate the cost per person on my holiday, which is $50/person. it doesn't matter, the matter now is show me the cost at princess that less than $50 if you can. and remember u said that $50 only for old ship, in fact that is not true.
Twin Share From: $1139 per person (P&O)
Still costing more to travel on a lower standard crusie line? Lines that quote quad rooms as a lead in price are trying to con people.Compare with this example… and they are twin rooms NOT the quad rooms…
http://cruisecentre.cruisefactory.net/cruiselines/princess_c…
Inside T W I N from: AU $985.00 (Princess)You need to shop around?
PS Past Princess cruisers get it cheaper than this again plus onboard spending credit.
as long u can show me the cost per person lower than $50, then you are the winner on this debate. other than that u know the answer. triple or quad, up to u. just show me.
wow great price joannatan but its only a month notice otherwise i would snap that up myself :)
I'd like to know as well.
me and my mates are considering going on a cruise around April next year during uni midsem break.
at the moment the 7 day cruise going to Vanuatu seems like a strong option at least price-wise but not sure about the type of crowd…we can all suss birds together :P
A girl I knew went during the September mid semester uni break with her bf. It was her first cruise and they ended up hating it because it was FULL of old people. It was also a 7 day one around the pacific islands. I think her break also didn't coincide with school holidays, so less families onboard. Then again, to be realistic, this is an example of one cruise of many…
No company wants to market themselves as a "party cruise" after the tragic affairs of a couple of years ago. The old days of Fairstar the funship are well and truly gone - cruise ships market themselves fairly and squarely to the family demographic, meaning kids, mums and dads, grandparents and the odd honeymooning couple who are looking for a bargain.
wait until carnival cruise come next year, i bet you not many old people would take that cruise, coz the target market are families with kids and young people.
guys, just cruises on sale for some cruises between 25-31 oct, better u have a look their website

you have all missed the point of the post.
the poster is asking what kind of cruise ships do young people 20-30 years old buy.
At 23 I bought my first 400ft cruise ship 4th hand from America for $21 mil.
I found it useful.
crap
hahahahaha
can i borrow it? i promise ill give it back :P
sure, just return it with a full petrol tank.
no prob, if its 2 stroke i might have an issue tho…
In all seriousness i think the best time to cruise is the holidays when people bring their family etc :P
It depends on what you (as an individual) are like, the time of year you cruise and the destination you have in mind (and don't forget the $$$ factor). Christmas/New Years generally have a younger crowd, while the "off peak season" tends to have much older crowds - even on P&O. Also depends on if you want to travel from Aus (most would recommend P&O) or elsewhere (eg Carnival out of America). I'd suggest having a look at the Cruise Critic website (http://cruisecritic.com/) there is alot of useful info, recommendations, and reviews there. You can also post your question on their forums and get answers from people with many many years of cruising experience.
Oh, if you meant single (as in travelling alone) I know one ship has cabins specifically for solo travellers (so you're not paying any type of loading for only having 1 person in a 2 person room), I think it's called Norweigan Epic.
