  • if it is worth taking the chance.

    what chance would that be?

    • +8

That it arrives. That you have no (usable) warranty.

are people seriously going to pay this much for it

    • $749 from Apple

      • +1

$100 for two years of warranty.. Worth the extra 100 bucks..

        • 2 years of excellent warranty. Walk into an Apple store and they'll get it fixed or get you a replacement. Impressive.

are people seriously going to pay this much for it

Yes if you don't want to pay $1200 for an iPhone 11 but still want the internal hardware.

  • I've got an escobar phone I'd love to sell you…

    More chance to receive it..

Cmon people, ask yourself… How many more need to be scammed?

    • Mods should remove/ban this if it’s a known scam site

      • +4

I had huge problems with a Galaxy Watch,

Countless others have had at best huge delays and no response.

They've changed names, hiding their past

Their names are deceiving with AU added to many of their names.

Warranty is just impossible they'll keep your device.

    • Uh what scam? You eventually get things delivered ? Unless I’m missing something new with tobys

      • +2

        Yeah, right.

        If you care about warranty…

I don't care if you wanna risk it. 25 plus people agreed with me on the Fold deal.

I don't care if Apple fans don't wanna do their research. Don't come complaining here.

Odd about Apple when it comes from Toby's by all accounts it should be a new Iphone. Yet Apple won't stand behind their product when it comes from overseas. The usual excuse is that it may have been tampered with.

    • +5

No, all iPhones come with 1 year international warranty. iPhones bought from an Australian retailer are covered by Australian consumer law which provides for 2 year warranties on phones. This is nothing new.

Save a few bucks but other costs come into play

    • What are you smoking?

Apple doesn't care where you buy an iPhone they will always honour the warranty. The only time they don't is when people buy grey imports that have actually been 'purchased' earlier and sold later. So technically the phone was sold in Jan 2019… but then a dodgy reseller sells it again in Jan 2020… while it may be brand new in box technically it is a year old in Apple's eyes.

    Regular Price: AU$1,099.99

    Lol.

    What (profanity) bullshit.

    Try $749.

Geez, if you can't see what a terrible company this is….

  • +4

Get AU stock for $749 and it comes with 2 yrs warranty

  • +2

    Its a trapp..

  • tobydeals? No thanks. Surely this size is on the verge of being banned from here.

    • +3

It is rather small & a big bezel too for 2020, but not sure if it should be banned.

  • +1

Too many delays, lies, hassles getting refund and general grief from this company.

  • These guys are great for price matching.

    • +1

Who actually prices matches these jokers?

  • Do u have to pay GST on grey import?

    • Under $1K, GST is supposed to be collected by sellers who register for GST with Aust govt. Tobydeals does not charge GST.

  • Is local apple stock have dual SIMs card option ?

    • +1

should be, 1 physical sim + esim

      • Thank you. In that case, local is better if we concern about warranty.

  • Any chance to beat the price at Officeworks?

    • Let me know how you go :)
I wouldn’t count on it, but it might be worth a shot, haha.

  • Would prefer a deal on the 128Gb.

…From what I've quickly read on other deals from this seller; there is a risk, and don't expect good communication… but if you pay via Paypal and the item doesn't arrive, you should get a refund through Paypal pretty easily… and if it does arrive and starts to malfunction after a couple of months, then Apple still has a 1yr international warranty for you…

    • Yes. My understanding with Apple laptops is that Apple will provide warranty as long as it is the same model being sold by the local Apple (for obvious reason, can't replace the parts that are not locally stocked). 'Not sure about iPhones though.

      • According to the OP, this is the same model as is sold in Australia. In terms of warranty with Apple, they should honour 12month warranty even for “grey imports”, as long as it is legitimately a “brand new” item. If the product is not really brand new and has been used previously then the 12mnth period has probably elapsed before you get it.
