Aldi Premium High Back Office Chair $69.99 (Wednesday Oct-5)

30

Aldi are now changing their sale day from Thursdays and splitting it between Wednesdays & Saturdays.

For those who need a new office chair on a budget this may be a good option. Can't be any worse than Officeworks and a hell of a lot cheaper, for the price it looks pretty good to me.

Material: mesh and PU
High back
Chrome finish base
100mm gas lift
Back: 48 x 82cm
Seat: 49 x 50cm

  • how much weight does it support? it's not listed on the page?

  • Can't be any worse than Officeworks

yes it can… at least Aldi have a good refund policy though…

OW ones all state the max weight they can support…

    • Fair point, maybe someone could ring head office to obtain more information on this. Like I said below I'm 94kg which may be over the limit but I'll be giving it a go. Over the next 60 days I'll be parked on this thing a lot.

  • i imagine this would be 80kg…

have been looking for office chairs as of friday. officeworks ones arnt much chop either

    • I'm currently 94kg and I'm going to give it a shot. 60 days for it to fail I figure :)

      • Well, you're in luck! They also have a road flat bar bicycle on special as well! Shred those extra Kgs!

        • I'm 6'2 so I'm not much over my normal body weight but suggestion noted :D

Nice… but got one few months ago

  • Sweet, my current one is crap :p will have a look.

    • My >$400 officeworks one is about 5-6 years old now and well and truly past it's best before date :) This can only be an improvement and get me by until I can afford something better assuming the aldi one isn't top quality, bonus if it is.

  • Can it tilt backward?

    • I'd be surprised if it can't. Even on a cheap chair this should be included. Having said that, the picture doesn't clarify for certain does it.

Aldi have always been really crap at providing useful information in the catalogues and website…

chances are, there won't be one assembled to check out at the store either…

      • Some stores have display items to look at? Never seen that before in the Brisbane stores.

The packaging too usually has very little information on it in regards to the features of the product. At least you can return things if they don't do what you want, but it's pain. Especially when there's no service counters and you have to go to a normal checkout.

What is the normal procedure for returning stuff to Aldi anyway? Most of the stores only allow you to enter the store part, so you have to go into the store with your returned item and wait in line with people buying things? Seems odd, and open to people abusing it by buying something, going back and grabbing an identical item off the shelf and returning it.

    • I bought one the during the last sale (albeit it looks a little different) and no mine can't tilt backwards.

      • no mine can't tilt backwards.

that would be a deal breaker…

        • I did regret my purchase but couldn't be bothered disassembling it and returning it. Save your money and put it towards something better is my advice.

          Could be worse

      • Why did you regret it? It looks like a good chair, mesh, ergonomic back support.
Just curious as I'm in need of an office chair and this one looks decent for $70 - IKEA was charging $400 for similar chairs.

        • Why are these chairs so overpriced. $400 for a bloody chair? geez

For what it's worth, it's not 'a hell of a lot cheaper'. Identical in looks to this chair at $79: http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Furniture/Chai…. $10 is $10, but it's got tilt and 120kg rating. But if you went to an OW and tried it out, there's that many other chairs you'd probably end up buying a different one anyway.

  • The same one here cost $76 free shipping
