    • I got dropbox. My question is did anyone get nike?

Not sure where you are getting the no deposit from, mine is showing free stock on deposit.

Still a good deal, so +'d.

    • same here

    • How many shares?

    • I received it via email. Might be targeted after signing up…

The referral description should be updated. They used to give out the merch, seems it's now just one of the three stocks.

so you're saying having one share will ruin my taxes?

        • +6

You could just report it when it comes to tax time like most people do with US domiciled holdings. Stake provide the details come tax time.

        • Ofcourse the ATO will want their slice of your income…

Speaking practically, we just pop any income from dividends into offset. That way it is ready to go come tax lodgement time.

If you're unable to manage tax implications then get an advisor / accountant to invest on your behalf. Or just rely on super.

I signed up to Stake and have been using them and thought I would share my experience.

Once you deposit your funds they are stuck in your account for 2 months. Share sales take 2 days settle. Withdrawals take days to settle.

The platform offers a good variety of ETF's and stocks but unfortunately me the wait time on everything is a deal breaker.

If your in a position where you intend on depositing some funds and not worrying about them for the next few months then this would be a good option for you.

    • Thanks for your comment.

I was thinking of signing up until I read your comment. Having a second thought now. 2 days to settle share sale and more for withdrawal is, indeed, a deal breaker.

  • If I sign up via a referral, do I still get the wheel to spin to get the items?

  • fees. exchanges fees. these add up

    • currency conversion fees

  • I too am seeing the deposit symbol before I get my free stock. Looks like min to deposit is 50 AUD

  • Your Free Stock Awaits

On average you are only going to get around $11.50USD for signing up and depositing. You may get lucky and get a $98 Nike share, but probably not. Now you have a US share that you will need to complete paper work for and do extra work on your tax return.

Definitely not worth doing just for the share.

  • well this sucked. payed a $50usd and withdraw $24AUD afterwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • 8USD feeeS?

      • not the same deal but same company
