Even though I was able to claim the other free game Sludge Life without any problem. Turned out it was my VPN - Private Internet Access causing the problem when claiming this game. Disabled it and was able to claim the game.
Had the same problem with Ozbargain. Banned IP address and was unable to search. Had to re-login to VPN to get different address.
Yes they are using IP filtering, which is pretty useless. Have to turn off or shuffle to an unpopular server to do EA.

Once you claim the games, remember to go to the store pages for the games to get the HD packs (which are also free)

Every time I forgot to check the starting time and opened Epic Games Launcher too early. :facepalm:
