[VIC] Wagyu Beef MS9+ Rump Steak $39/kg, Wagyu MS9+ Scotch Fillet $100/kg. Free pickup (Free Del > $120) @ Nusa Meats

90

NUSA Meats are normally a wholesaler but this Covid19 thing has given us an opportunity to buy great cuts for a reasonable price.

They are advertising on Facebook to particular "foodie groups" so that's how I found out about them.

Their main website www.nusameats.com.au, isn't for retail so they don't have an online ordering system.

They have a order form and its free delivery to Metro Melbourne over $120 on various days.

Anyway, apart from Wagyu Rump Steak at $39, they have some of the best prices for other cuts like

9+ Wagyu Eye FIllet - $110/kg
9+ Wagyu Scotch Fillet - $100/kg
9+ Wagyu Porterhouse - $90/kg
6+ Wagyu Porterhouse - $59/kg
9+ Beef Karubi - $49/kg

As per their online form, you can message them on whatsapp. They are usually pretty responsive during work hours. Or you can just do the old school thing and pick up from their store.

Search for Nusa Meat Home Delivery Group.

This deal is also good for those that couldn't see themselves eating 3kg of meat from the other deals. You just need to buy $120 of product from them for free delivery. There product list ranges from meat to seafood so there's quite a bit going on there… Otherwise I think the fee is reasonable. Just message them to see if they deliver to your suburb.

  • Sydney deal here :
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/540506

    but Melbourne deal is cheaper…

    • Melb deal is Scotch Fillet - 3kg for $200. Pricier but better cut.

      • Not apples to apples.

ie. these guys have this deal.

Nusa Scotch Fillet MBS 9+ 2kg for $200. Pricier but better quality.

The big plus here is that you don't need to buy 3kgs.

    • -1

Melbourne one is cheaper as it is not fullblood wagyu

      • Actually its F4/F5 - so would be fullblood. Minimum 90% with F4 rating.

        • Nope. F4 and above is considered purebred. Only 100% can be called fullblood

  • can anyone recommend a Melb delivery possible wagyu rump/scotch/eye fillet?

$39 per kg sounds good to me if it is MB9+ rump

  • god damn bought the deal from this morning

    • Same. That Melb Scotch Fillet deal is still the best, unless you want to pay more for a MBS 9+ (in which case, this place sells for $100 a kilo).

      • Which deal is this pls?

      • 2kg of MBS 9+ or 3kg of MBS 7+, 3kg was already too much for me so maybe I might've chosen MBS9+ haha idk

        • Hahaha. Well this gives you a good choice now.
$100 for MBS 9+ is actually a bigger discount to retail than MBS7 at $67

Before this Covid19, I don’t even think we can even get this kind of cut as it was all exported.

          • @Besean: wow damn I had no idea. Hopefully we can see more in the future as china restricts our exports

            • @[Deactivated]: I think most of the MS9+ stuff was going to US, Singapore, Malaysia and HK.

              • @Besean: Oh I see, thanks. Have you had both? How much of a difference is there between the 7+ and 9+?

                • @[Deactivated]: Yes, there’s actually a huge diff in terms of marbling between 7 and 9+.

However with 9+, you really have to eat rare-med. Otherwise it’s just a waste of an expensive piece of steak.

The 7+ is much more forgiveable. Still good, but somehow not melt in your mouth 9+.

  • Sounds like coin grading now.

  • Jealous. Would love to try but we're in WA

  • Imagine burning this on the bbq by accident.

Meat this good surely needs the right cook/chef

    • Yep. That happened to me with a lower grade of Wagyu though. Forgot about the extra amount of fat on the steak and the BBQ flamed up and smoked it instead of charcoaling it :(

    • gotta indirect heat this off the coals and then give it a quick sear using the fat dripping off it.

  • Where can we pick it up?

  • hmm another yummy meat….

  • Is this really MS9+ graded rump? Marbling seems quite low for the highest marbling score?

    • +1

      I asked the question.

The response from them was :

"We selected all wagyu steak from best Master Kobe, Kobe Cuisine by AcCO"

So basically it will be graded by AcCO. (the meat supplier itself)

  • Just got my order, the rump is not good and regret purchasing it. The marble seems very low in fact the scotch fillet that was rated 7+ had more marble than this. Also the meat was brown and has been oxidise. Comparing it to online butchers, you can really tell the difference. When I cooked and ate it tasted and smelt a bit off. I would not purchase this meat again. I purchase other stuff with the meat, all the other stuff were great and will probably purchase the other stuff again.
