Anyone know what the future of the updated on this phone will be? Oppo aren't the best at Android or security updates.

Great phone though, have been looking forward to this getting here

  • I like the plan, but looks like it is exclusively to this phone?

  • Any word on who will be selling these outright and prices?

    • +1

1599 at launch (from Ausdroid.net).no idea which retailer will sell it.

The spec is ridiculous, 12G RAM that is even larger than my computer’s 8G RAM

  • My favourite of the year. Too bad don't need a new one…

It's unfortunate that this is a gift voucher and not a EFTPOS, meaning it's kind of useless unless you have more OPPO things you need to buy.

        From t&c as well:

There are 500 Digital Rewards available, which will be provided to the first 500 individuals to submit a valid and eligible claim in accordance with these terms

        • So it'll be a rat race, first in best dressed. Damn. Can't even wait to pull the trigger on this one…

          … firing now then! :)

Never done it before, but how do i get this deal, purchasing the phone outright? Getting the 36 months plan then activate it as well as cancelling it on the first day?

  • -3

Poor little OPPO tryna push itself into the big boys' playground.

    • +4

There's nothing poor or little about Oppo.

  • Am I the only one annoyed that they ditched the popup camera from the original Find X?

    • +1

Not the only one, it's like they went a step back

  • Optus variants are single-SIM only.

From the spec on Optus website
    Single SIM: Nano SIM 4FF

That might be a deal breaker compared to purchasing it outright.

  • When someone published an article saying Oppo support in Aust is dead, then Optus drop this.

    • Do you happen to have a link to that article?

Not a bad deal but when you compare is to the $1049 Samsung S20 Plus deal from the Samsung EPP portal it doesn't really stack up. Fair enough, the camera is slightly better (although that may be a moot point when Samsung release an auto focus update in the next couple of weeks) but not much else is really. So is it worth paying 24% ($250) more for it?

    • +4

its CPU is SD 865, not Samsung’s Crappy Exynos. Also it has 65w charger and a 512ROM which is not offered by The $1049 S20 plus

My opinion It is worth to spend that extra 24%

  • Only available on the My Choice / standard plans. Not available on the 'build your own' plans unfortunately.

  • Is anyone able to pre order from Optus?

  • Oh lord, I couldn’t resist, I have signed this phone.

Was having second thoughts on oneplus 8 pro. But it lack of B28 and local warranty make it as a dealbreaker.

    • +1

      Gongrats.

The proper Global version of the Oneplus 8 Pro has Band 28, it's the cheaper Chinese versions running the global rom that don't.

  • flybuy offer ($49) 15,000 bonus points from Standard offer + 30,000 bonus points from Bonanza offer. plus free apple music and Optus Sport.
