28 Degrees - Unable to Make a Price Protection Claim

Hi guys, for the first time ever I tried to make a Price Protection Claim from 28 degrees.
I've tried Edge, Chrome, Firefox - all safe mode.

I am using the following page:
https://www.latitudefinancial.com.au/insurance/make-a-claim/…

I've been filling out the online form but it simply doesn't work. I fill out all the details and eventually get to the Acknowledgement Page and it simply doesn't do anything and the whole process and form has to be filled out again only to not work.

It's quite frustrating as I can't seem to call their number for this service as they no staff online due to COVID.
Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues?

For those that have managed to fill out the form in the past, I'm just wondering what a successfull entry looks like.

I did a claim a couple of weeks ago, it just says something like here is your claim number, it may take 10 business days or something. They also email you and include all that info.

Do you have URLs in your description? That could cause problems: https://whrl.pl/Rf1oz0

    • 100% yes! I was linking to the website that has the 'matched' Price. Will try again without this.

    • Thanks, this has plagued me!

    • Oh man this glitch has been bugging me for ages and I could never work out what was causing it. Thank you, you saved me!

  • I am trying to put through a claim and running into the same endless page reloading issue. Hope they get it sorted soon

    • I have submitted two claims in the last two days.
      No such issue.

      • Strange but I gave it a shot this morning and it went through fine. Won't look a gift horse in the mouth and am pleased

        • Too many characters in the description box can cause this. Did you put less this time around?

      • Never used the price protection feature on my card before. Was wondering if you have to submit a receipt with each claim?

The PDS document says price protection doesn't cover lower prices due to "corporate discounts". But does it cover an item purchased through a corporate discount (e.g. jb commercial) if I later find it cheaper at a regular store?

          Yes

I have been submitting a receipt with each claim, just to avoid them having to email me and ask for it. Not sure what others are doing.

          • @bohn: Same as that.

          • @bohn: I don't even bother with a receipt. Yet to have had a claim denied or been asked to provide further details. To be fair I do make sure I get my dates/prices/item details correct so maybe that's why.

            • @Shekster: I could try that.
Do you just provide a screenshot of the price you want to match?

              • @bohn: I’ve only been asked to provide receipt a few times, and proof of price reduction twice. But I still keep receipts, and take screenshots or photos of reductions just in case.

          • @bohn: I've never submitted anything and never been asked either, done about 10 claims all approved within days.

Had 1 claim not be answered, called up a month later to hear that it was accidentally not lodged on their end and had it immediately fulfilled. I inquired about circumstances when they will require proof and the lady told me they try to verify everything themselves on their end, so no need for us to submit proof most of the time, but to keep screenshots or photos just in the rare chance they are unable to verify it.

Are there any good CC with price protection anymore?
Im kind of regret for not signing up for 28 CC before they removed price protection insurance = (

I'm also intersted. Definitely regret it.

    • Following this if there is any! :( regretted not signing up for it.

    • As far as I know there isn't. I did a lot of research a while back into PP and saw that my only option was 28Deg or Gem?(Go? can't remember the name exactly but it was essentially a CC with the exact same insurance provided by Latitude). I had just missed the boat on Coles with their amazing (yet clearly unsustainable) 24mths PP so had to settle for 28Deg, which I'm more than happy with and have saved a lot using.

      • Isn't coles PP only at the same store?
        Or did they change that?

  • Anyone still experience this issue even without a URL in the description? So bloody frustrating.
