You didn't just want to go to Bunnings when they are open and look in the lighting section, rather than post a thread at 530am.

Or look on the Bunnings website.

Why waste your and someone elses energy by making useless comments ? I've found that there are always a bunch of smartasses on all aussie forums. Could just scroll past it no ? OP can post a thread at any time they desire, they don't need to explain you who or why.

I believe my comments were usefull, but obviously OP had specific needs and didn't understand that we were actually talking about the same thing of what she needed. I put out a comment based on the OPs original description, but in the end the OP adds more detail in their posts which then in this instance isn't helpful to them. We're all here to help in the end. She found her keys in her previous thread which I helped with. Your post also makes sense. Hence why most of the time I don't waste my time or others to post comments.

@ensanguined: Maybe slightly off topic, but slightly curious. You do realise that the people you neg, also has the option of using their 5 negs on you too?

        Something something… get stupid answers

      • +5

Yeah , sometimes i am confused when people put up comments or threads on a forum and other people come back with smartass remarks or tell them to not post and instead go do a google. If everyone did that, there will be no forums… The point of a forum is to have people contributing and having a discussion. My experience lately has been more and more people just trolling or going after people, I got trolled recently by a user on here. Just smart ass remarks when i was contributing to a thread. Not saying anyone here was a troll, just my general experience lately.

I feel "go google" is a reasonable response in most instances. More often than not there is already an answer out there (sometimes even on this very forum), the OP has just been to lazy to check, thus wasting people's time.

@John Kimble: actyally its the troll like comments that are a waste of time

            • @screensaver: But if the topic post didn't exist, the troll posts don't exist.

              • +1

@John Kimble: so does that mean the trolls silence everyone?

                • +15

@screensaver: No, they just add some comedic value to a worthless discussion. Makes it interesting at least.

                  • +1

@John Kimble: I dont find trolls that funny, its actually quite disturbing there are so many negative energies

                  • -1

@John Kimble: lets get real, its the trolls who are worthless, not normal decent people who are participating

          • @John Kimble: I agree google will have the answer to most posts but then what’s the point of new posts and forums and having different categories for threads etc if most information is out there if you spend enough time on google?

The other thing is People may actually be looking for opinions from a particular group or forum and hence why they chose to ask the question in that forum

        • yes if you put up a post you are a target for snipers

          • +2

@screensaver: my take is I wont usually let the trolls make me stay silent

            • @screensaver: Yes, I commend your attitude. A bit of banter never hurt anyone. People shouldn't take themselves so seriously, especially online.

              • +1

@John Kimble: actually if you study their remarks their intention is often to hurt, it is rife everywhere online.

                • @screensaver: You can report the post as personal attack and if the mods agree, it will be removed.

I honestly think OP is a troll judging by their post history. Pam that is, not Dedbny.

    • +1

No offence, but bunnings’ website search is shit.

      • In what way? I find it fine?

        • +2

You need to know exact keywords and spelling for that pos website to return a result. If you’re looking for product search or related, it does no good at all. Here is a crude example.

Go to bunnings website and search “2 inch bolts” (0 results)
Now go to google and search “2 inch bolts bunnings” (plenty of results with correct item listed as well)

During covid they’ve improved the website to list the aisle numbers atleast, still a long way to go.

You don't even know. The guy was just walking past on his exercise.

  • I opened a window which made a noise, saw nothing, then looked again a minute or so later, and saw someone

I think I gave seen one in the past. Does anyone know which one?

Maybe you're thinking of the popular Xiaomi Mijia/Yeelight Night Light. They are indoor lights with very low light output.

    • +17

But are they pre stuck? OP has specific requirements.

      • +1

COVID hoarders bought all the double sided tape, MUST BE PRE-STUCK

        • no must be stick on, never thought of double sided tape, but I will stick to the stick on

          • +3

@screensaver: Please define "stick on" as I am not following.

          • +4

@screensaver: I personally prefer Blu-Tack. I use it to stick everything. And it’s reusable to boot. Amazing invention. Carry it with me everywhere. Always in my pocket.

        • To tape their butts shut due to the lack of toilet paper 😂😂

Bought a few of these from SC recently and they are pretty bright and the motion sensor works very well. Also they have a magnetic base so easily sticks to metal poles etc. Takes 3 AAAs so you can put your eneloops stash to good use.

    • Yeah I bought these when they were on special for $2 about 2 months ago.

      They do the job.

  • OP must have a vague recollection of the Global Shop Direct sensor light that uses double-sided tape. They no longer have it on their site, but TV ads were running for it as recently as last year.
This is their current offering and it requires screwing the mount to a surface.

Ozpost shop may have stock of the older self-adhesive ones.

    • That has to be it. Looks OK.

    Hey Pam.

    • Saw it was her (or him) and knew this thread was gonna be gold

      • Haha yeah me too.

He/she mentioned earlier about negative energies, a little walk down memory lane through their previous posts suggest that poor Pam has probably got quite a bit of negative energy around themselves.

I do hope their isn’t a stalker/invader though, that would be horrible

        • Time will tell. I hope it's not a stalker either. The light will help a bit.

Don't rely on light motion sensor. Get a cheap DIY house alarm like DIGOO for the added peace of mind. Nothing fancy, its wireless, DIY, expandable sensors (PIR, window/door, fire, water leak etc), works on Wifi which you can access/monitor remotely, notifications sent to your smartphone, etc.

The cheap stock on motion light I have tried seem to be overly sensitive and turn on too often or chew batteries like no tomorrow.

I have a solar powered one near the bins that has been going for about 5 years. Cheap, from Aldi. Not super bright, but enough to see down the side of the house. Maybe a bit sensitive, it comes on frequently but not too bright to annoy anyone.

  • Sounds like you have a severe case of paranoia/anxiety, may want to see a doctor to get it checked out :)

    • actually I have discovered something missing. I keep my Aldi fabric spray out there to spray my jumpers before washing. Cannot find it anywhere, it was there yesterday

Bunch of savages. You should report the theft to the police and claim on your home insurance.

Might be worth spending at least $1k on a surveillance system in the future.

      • +3

Are you sure you didn't put the fabric spray back inside or someone else in family brought it back inside. You have miss placed your keys before. Is it in the bushes as well.
