How does this one compare to the kmart ones?

    • That's like comparing a Farrari to a Toyota Corolla. Of course this one is leaps and bounds superior in every way compared to the cheap and generic ones from Kmart. It would probably last way longer too.

      • +8

        Not quite.

More like a VW compared to a LDV.

One would hope their appliances lasted as long as a Toyota Corolla.

      • A farrari, hmm so it's the same.

Now if your comparing an Italian made Ferrari to a Japanese corolla. That's a big difference

    • My brother in law has the Kmart one. They use it every day and love it. Kmart one is never is stock been looking for a few weeks now. Just bit the bullet as some people do say that Philips one is ever so slightly better.

You realise all three of you haven't said anything particularly descriptive. It's better how exactly?

I'm using the cheapie Kogan and my main complaint about it would be if it's got a bit in it, this struggle to crisp up. I've noticed it doesn't have any slits around the sides, but even the other cheapies have that, so what else do you get for the money?

  • Same price on their eBay store. Free shipping with Plus.

If you're not desperate for one right now, Amazon bring the XXL one down to $269 periodically. Hell of a deal and absolutely fantastic unit.

We were tempted to get the none digital XXL as it was only a little bit more. This is our first Air Fryer so we though we will see how we go with this one and ho much we use it/ love it

      • To be honest, you're not missing out much without the digital dials vs manual. It's the same set the temp and timer and away you go. Same capacity, same heating elements, same twin scroll air director etc. Go for it.

        • does the digital have menu items and presets
or just buttons to change the temp and time?

          • @pinkybrain: It has some menu presets for different foods but it's basically just setting a 160, 180 or 200C temp. There might be something clever being done with airflow between fries and chicken setting, not sure. There's a 30 min reheat/keep warm feature too which is handy and doesn't dry food. Beyond that, not much else.

            Here's a quick button demo: https://gfycat.com/yellowcreamycaimanlizard

There's apparently an even newer gold trim version that 'senses' the food you put in and adjusts temp and timer automatically. No clue if that works well or gimmick.

            • @Hybroid: is the aldi $99 one same or smaller than the XXL and by how much?
from what I read aldi is 8L

    • Top notch mate..bloody just missed out on it last time they did it ..will be eyeing it on it like an Eagle this time ..

      • Same, waiting for an Amazon promotion.

  • I was sold on waiting for the XXL but the Digital Twin TurboStar comes with a double rack. Recommendations anyone?

I have the digital twin turbostar. I wish i had bought the xxl instead (digital function doesn't really add anything), really could have used more cooking area.

    • +2

I upgraded to the premium xxl from the twin turbo.
Got to say the extra room is awesome.
Fit more stuff and when don’t need to the extra room I think it cooks better cause of the extra air to move around… well that’s what I think… not sure if it’s my sub conscience justifying the upgrade 😂

  • ordered one…used gift cards from amex myer promo

    I have HD9742/93

  • Be careful with this product line as it has a serious design flaw.
You can't very much clean the ceiling as the heating coils are in the way and you can't take them off.
What's gonna happen is that unless you turn it upside down and thoroughly spray/scrub the ceiling after EVERY SINGLE use, the grease will stick and accumulate behind the coils and become disgusting.
Even with the aforementioned methods some grease are still going to get through the coils and you just can't reach behind them.
So don't expect to have an easy time cleaning it like you could do with a convection oven.

  • Guys any idea about https://www.myer.com.au/p/tefal-fry-delight-air-fryer-white.. $194 for 800gms.. please let me know if i should get this one?
