Hi everyone,
As we move towards the next face of Australia's Covid-19 recovery, it looks like overseas travel won't be on the cars for a while. I figured having a spare AirBed could be handy just in case a mate decided to stay over after a Beer and BBQ session on the Weber we were compelled to buy by the Ozbargain front page.
I've had a look online and most queen airbeds will set you back about %double this price. I also wasn't able to find a single as cheap delivered (prime required). I think this classifies at a #bargain! I guess alternatively we could all sleep on the Astivita inflatable Santa's we bought just before christmas! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504796
Features:
Sturdy and comfortable I-beam construction
Built-in pillow for superb sleeping comfort
Built-in electronic pump for fast and easy inflation
Quick inflation and deflation screw valve - Reviews suggest it's up and running in under 10 minutes.
Includes adhesive repair patch and travel bag
Dimensions on the box: 2.03 x 1.52
Cons
Some reviews saying it doesn't seem to hold air for longer than 3 hours. But the majority of reviews are positive or in German. This is sold by Amazon Australia and as such as are covered by the ACL.
Also available: Bestway Airbed Single with AC pump $21.67 (free shipping with prime) - Dimensions: 1.91 x 97

*tried to check historical price data, but nothing shows up.
*edit: price appears to be dynamically changing. I've updated to reflect. Initial listing was $35.34. (Queen has now gone back to regular price around $66)
Has anyone ever had a good experience of one of these beds?
I have owned several and have found several problems: They develop a leak over time - usually at a seam. I suspect that storing them folded is not ultimately good for the plastic. Also, when they are inflated, the air inside the bed is heated by the pump. Overnight, as that air cools down it contracts; and combined with the drop in night-time ambient temperature, the airbed loses pressure and sags.
It looks like a good price but I am not sure it is a good product. I have had much better experience with Exped Megamat self-inflating mattresses. However, 7x the price…
