Similar to this deal, but a bit cheaper: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/514244

works out to $14.85/month, $16.50/month or $23.20/month

Lebara uses the Vodafone network

Last year you were able to buy and stack 2 of the 180 day cards. Not sure if you can still do it.

I've been with them a couple years and never had any issues.

[edit]: Their online chat confirmed that you can buy up to 24 months worth of plans, they will run one after the other, just buy them from their website. They also said its only for existing customers.

[edit2]: expiry changed from 12th to 31st May.

How does the stacking work? And is this for existing customers only?

Their online chat person said you just buy the cards from the above link, and they will start when your current credit expires, and you can buy upto 24 months worth. Also said it was for existing clients only, new clients can sign up and get a slightly worse offer here: https://www.lebara.com.au/mobile-plans/long-term-plans/

I guess however, if you went to a supermarket and bought a prepaid Lebara sim and activated it, you could recharge with these packs. You'd have to get the sim running before tomorrow night when the deal expires though.

In saying that, Lebara constantly have flash sales like this in the 1-2 months leading up to EOFY, so I wouldnt worry too much about missing out as another one will come up.

      • As stated above. The packs will activate one after the other. I bought two years for my folks when they had a $50/ 6 month recharge. Over the two years, the plan inclusions have increased so pretty happy with their offering. Boost would be my go-to once this finishes for a low data user like my parents.

Decent deal, had loads of porting issue with Boost last xmas (5 weeks and they still couldn't port thanks to their competent porting specialist team) I'll just stick to this deal

I dont get why people still need to call international in 2020. Even my peasant relatives in Eastern Europe, of all ages, have access to internet and therefore messenger to make calls for free.

Not everybody has access or unlimited access to Internet.

      • I agree

    • Thanks but sometimes messenger does not work if the other person is out of network or the sound is crap too

    • Can you call a bank/financial institution /a college/ a department store using WhatsApp ?

    • When I'm out

I would say don't judge people from your own perspective. Australia is full of people migrated from oversea, they all may have friends or family in a ago that don't know how to use or area that lack of internet.

So up to every one buying what suit.
