  • I don't see the hybrid ceramics type from Turtle Wax. How do I see it ?

    • 'HS Ceramic'

    • They are near the bottom as you scroll down.

      • Cheers. I am looking for wax. My Autoglym wax is dried out in the container.

        • Perfect timing. I too still have a few Meguiars bottles but the new ceramic has proven to be more time saving & great result comparing to the old Carnauba tech.

    • $30 for hybrid ceramic vs $20 for seal n shine. That's a big price jump

      • It's different products altogether. Seal n shine is carnauba as opposed to ceramic.

  • So if I were to do a full maintenance job on the car would it be:

    1. Wash and dry
    2. Clay bar
    3. Turtle Wax HS Ceramic Polish & Wax - to remove the minor swirls etc
    4. Turtle Wax HS Ceramic Wax - for the 6months ish coverage
    5. Turtle Wax HS Ceramic Wet Wax - for the finishing and more regular wash maintenance

or is step 4&5 achieved in 1 product (either 4 or 5)

    • Wouldn't bother with step 3 unless if you're using a machine. 4 and 5 combined is also easier using something like the Seal n Shine or ceramic spray.

      • could we skip step 3 and 4 by directly going with step 5 ? Or we have to go through step 1,2, and 4 ?

        • I was asking about 3 more for a maintenance job that you would do 1-2 times a year, it's not essential. 4 is the product that apparently people are raving about. 5 from description gives the gloss/shine wet look.

        • I plan to just do 1,2 and 4, and then 1,1,1… for 6 months.

No.4. Says spray and wipe. However, if done with a polisher am I going to save arm pain and time or is this likely to cause some catastrophic outcome?

      • Yeah I've got a machine, was gonna do that. Cheers.

    • +1

If you are gunna polish, best to get a machine. The claying + polishing takes hours to do even with a polisher. You can certainly do it by hand, but that shit will take ages and you won't be able to remove scratches as well.

Personally, I wouldn't bother buying the product on your 5th step, is it supposed to be just another wax that works when the car is wet? Regardless, I certainly wouldn't use one after the other

Don't do 3 after 4, the product is a "polish & wax", so you would be waxing it again.

You only need to polish once every 1-2 years (at least that's what I do). In between that, wash dry and apply wax

      • Wet wax is a drying aid.

      • Hahaha this makes a lot of sense, thanks!

I read the wet wax as a "wet like finish" as opposed to a "wet application wax". I.e. I'd have been triple waxing like a buffoon had I not asked this question!

      • Wet Wax is applied as you dry as opposed to normal dry and then apply wax and wipe off process. It saves a bit of time. Although I would assume you can use wet wax when the car is dry.
And if I don't have time to do different steps, then polish & wax is great, but for best polishing job, I'd stick with polish only product.

  • They're not the hybrid "acrylic ceramic" that receives rave reviews from detailers from the US. AFAIK, only the hybrid ceramic range is available in the AU market, with near-future plans to bring the new hybrid acrylic ceramic range into AU. Expect the price to be much higher than the US (as always).

    • so no deal then ?
