The decimal point is in the wrong place.
(profanity) me
Nintendo are taking the piss surely?Feels so dirty taking advantage of people like this
Most of Nintendo Switch games are years old ports and indie junk at double the price or more of other systems. It's serious joke and has put me off the platform now. Yes it's the price you pay for portability but damn the joy cons are CRAP even with the Hori Split Pad Pro.
I don't understand what people expect with pricing. This port was released on Switch (alongside a physical version) less than 3 months ago.
How do you all believe these things should be priced? Most people seem think new games on Switch should be priced immediately as if they are bargain bin titles.
Remasters and re-releases on Xbox and PlayStation have the exact same problems, but aren't nearly as publicised as much simply because the Switch, due to its hardware, is getting more of them at the moment
I agree, but to be fair, the Xbox and PS4 cop it less because in addition to ports and remasters of old things, they also get the annual Call of Duty, WWE, FIFA, Assassin's Creed, and so on, whereas a much higher percentage of the Switch's library of third party AAA games is last gen ports than the other guys.

Saints Row The Third RemasteredComing out soon for PS4 and Xbox One for $40 USD / $60 AUD, but somehow people don't blame Sony and Microsoft for being "greedy" with the pricing the same way people blame Nintendo for the prices set by 3rd parties on the Switch.
I wouldn't pay that price either considering how little 'remastering' is needed from an Xbox 360 game.
I'd pay $20 for a remaster of Saints Row 2 for the next gen consoles.
Because no effort was made for the port and it's aimed a people who don't know it's a port of a 3 year old remaster of an 8 year old game.
If you show me an article where the developer gets to keep the money that the pricier switch version makes, then I'll agree it's fine and say it's actually good
But I'm highly doubtful that Nintendo aren't keeping it.
There are developers who use Ozbargain who also have physical Switch releases (Ash from SMG Studios just released Moving Out for example). Better off finding out the full info before throwing emotionally charged accusations and opinions around.
On the console side of things, the 30% baseline holds true. IGN was told this 30% also includes the licensing fees associated with publishing your game on each system. One source even explained that Nintendo used to take a 35% cut from games released as part of WiiWare, but has adjusted its policy since to be in line with its competitors.

If Nintendo is taking a 30% cut, in line with industry standards, where do you think the remaining 70% is going?
Still way too expensive for a 7 year old game.
