Hi all,
Here's my Scenario, want to replace the original IINET Router/Modem (TG789 V2, FTTN, 3 years old) as it keeps cutting Wifi for some reason.
I'm open to:
- use the existing TG789 as standalone Modem and buy a Wifi Router
- get a Modem/Router combo that works with the existing Internet
- buy a Modem and Router
3 options I'd like to see:
- Wifi 6 (futureproof?)
- VPN (not a must)
- USB and/or Sdcard extension for network storage
Budget - Ozbargain
Any suggestions/opinions/input is much appreciated. TIA
Tg789 uses a broadcom chipset for modem and i believer is still a recommended option for the modem side of things.
use the tg789 bridged and just buy whatever wifi router you like. It is always better.
Even the great router companies like asus make dud devices when the modem and router is combined. They dont get as frequent firmware updates and dont have 3rd party firmware.
