  • Best in class.

    • Which class are we talking about?

      • sonos play 5 and google home max. All both have.

        Class of 2016.

          yup. and still a killa.

My Soundlink Mini that I bought in 2017 still destroys any similarly sized/priced bluetooth speaker that I've compared it to. Not sure audio necessarily falls into the same category of tech that always improves each generation.

  • Also Bose SoundTouch 20 Series III Wireless Music System (White) for $295: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/bose-soundtouch-20-series…

    • Managed to pick-up a display model for a bit less than this. Good deal for a brand new one.
(Display model has been working great for years.)

Edit: we have the Series II with AirPlay. The Series III in your link replaces AirPlay with Bluetooth if I remember correctly.

      • It does replace AirPlay, however the Bluetooth versions of soundtouch were upgraded to Airplay 2

          Oh thanks for sharing.

  • It surely does look like a nice solid expensive audio equipment

  • bought it 3 years ago from myer. Managed to work with my google home. amazing speaker!

    • How do you get it to work with Google Home, I don't see it on the official page

      • +2

        It is pretty easy.
        1. Connect the speaker with your google home using the bluetooth,
        2. In the settings of your google home set it to use the bluetooth speaker for playing music
here are the steps in the google website google

I have a couple of Soundtouch systems and I love them, probably worth noting though that the Bose Soundtouch App (which works with all Soundtouch devices and some legacy Home Theaters) which they have been building on and supporting for years looks like it might be superseded by the Bose Connect App (which is the app that all the newer Soundlink devices use) Soundlink and Soundtouch will not work together and when I was talking to a Bose sales person he seemed to think Soundtouch was going End of Life.

  • Spend $400 on this non smart speaker then spending $300 on not so smart homepod
Spotify works great on this and I guess they received airplay2 update recently

  • Does this work with the soundbar 500?

    • +1

No unfortunately not … Soundbar 500 is not Soundtouch compatible.
