So you get a stock, google it and then cheat the system with history? Righto.

    • +7

Well its a game, its on you if you want to cheat

      • Well said

In the real world it would be called research and due diligence which is kinda fundamental learning for trading. Whats the point in practising if there's nothing learned except guessing when to click buy or sell? You could teach a cat to do that.

        • +1

due diligence by going to Hot Copper? lol

        • This is a simulation game, are you aware that you can treat this game and apply research and due diligence like it was real life? Not rocket science.

Man I can’t wait to lose all my virtual money

Well, there is soo much more to the stock market than just seeing it as a game. Fundamentals and technical analysis is what shows the current trend and when the swing is going to begin/end. This game will not teach you much when u actually trade on the real stock market. Using either real or demo money account. Patience is the hardest thing in the stock market. And also risk management.
There is a saying you can be right 99% of the time but the 1% mistake can wipe out your whole acc.

I rather sign up toa broker and trade with a demo acc than use this. Tradingview charts can show what the app shows

    • In your opinion, whats the best way to learn trading?

      • +7

Start trading. Once you lose your first $1k you'll realise it's not easy and you need to do a lot of research.

        • But you could just play this game and lose a fake $1k, same thing…

@Aequitas: Is not the same as losing real money.

            • +1

@JIMB0: if you treat it the same, then it is. requiring you to lose money for a lesson is idiotic.

              • @Aequitas: You'll trade differently when your own real money is at risk.

            • @JIMB0: not with that attitude

Do trading courses watch youtube videos on the topic the channel UKspreadbetting is one i recommend. There is alot to learn with trading, Even traders with 10 years experience keep learning from their mistakes.
To show i do know about trading, My first attempt on the app. It is soo fake since it will not let me close my Facebook shares.

        You will not learn anything.

      • +1

Real trading is so much harder 500 to 13000K and lost it all from 1 mistake and no stop loss. This game teaches you nothing besides greed and having numbers show up on your screen.

    • I’ve been thinking of getting into the stock market for a while now, what demo account do you recommend for a beginner?

      • +1

Try signing up for a broker and then setup a demo account from there. Etoro is the easiest to trade. Other brokers give u a MT4 or MT5 login so u can trade on there. MT4 has a longer learning curve than Etoros easy to place trades allocating a specific amount of money for a trade.

        • I'm not aware of any Australian equities brokers offering MT5 for equities. MT4 and MT5 are however almost industry standard for forex which I'm assuming you're trading. The most common platform Australian equities brokers offer for semi-pro or pro traders is webIRESS or IRESS.

I believe IG Markets AU offers a demo equities trading account. Don't think many others do.

    • All depends on your attitude and perspective. You can trade like it's your real money, while allowing you to take a little more risk. How much you learn or what you learn all depends on you.
Every thing is rubbish unless you make good use of it.

Terrible app, downloaded it and deleted it straight away. No search function for stock, prices are all completely outdated. Waste of time, wonder who would have paid for it before. I would as for a refund.

    • +1

Yep, it's not a great app. The prices being outdated is kind of the point though. But yeah the fact you have to scroll through a list of thousands of companies makes no sense. There's not even an alphabetical "jump-to" feature, let alone a search.

Also very slow in lots of places, and not super intuitive on how to do things.

    • Yes and there are no indicators on the charts just candles so u can just see the short term trend, Cannot add Fibonaci levels to measure price action or have RSI and Bolinger Bands to see price range.Nothing to see support and resistance prices. Or take profit or stop loss. It is teaching you to lose all your money. Stocks can go to 0 just like how Oil went below 0 in April 1984.Fact check my post and u will see,

  • Awful game. Deleted.

Also in real-life trading there are people playing against you to stop you out and make sure those who are greedy and use leverage lose all their money, There are block orders that suddenly create volatility in the market for no reason at any time. It is not easy to be a millionaire. If it was everyone would be one.

Want to make a million dollars on the stock market? All you need is two million dollars and you're half way there.
