Gaggia New Classic Coffee Machine $658 Delivered @ Appliances Online

160

$1 cheaper than this previous deal here of the same machine, from the same supplier.

Been looking around for a nice manual entry level espresso machine; this seems like a decent price.

Note that it appears that there's no current stock, and it says pre-order on the website when you try to check for delivery cost.

I would recommend the Rancilio Silvia over this machine, since this one has an aluminium boiler. The Silvia has a copper one, which doesn't corrode.

    • What's the best price you have found for the Silvia? They're a fair bit more expensive

  • But I thnik this one doesn't make espresso and froth at the same time, or get the Breville double boiler when on special which does, or a Sunbeam dual thermoblock? I know the argurment will be the gagai can be repaired and will last longer, but you can get extended warranty on a new machine, and no coffee machine repairs are cheap if you can't do them yourself whether its gaggia , breville, rancilio, etc.

For this price this is a great machine and one of the top single boiler units (along with Rancilio Silva). If looking for a compact and no-grinder included machine this is great. It isn't much fun to doing too many things at once on a compact machine anyways and I don't see the value in dual for my personal use. If I didn't have a bunch of JBHIFI vouchers I would have got this over the Breville Bambino but still no regrets as the 3 second heat up, auto froth (which actually works as it says), and simplicity is awesome when combined with a single wall basket.
As for warranty, these machines will generally last a lot longer than an extended warranty you can get, and most repairs / replacements afterwards can be done cost effective with the help of youtube. I was looking at faulty secondhand Breville units for almost give away prices but even those with simple issues were costly in parts and complex. They are almost toss away when an issue pops up outside warranty.

      • Truer words have never been said.

      • Yeah looking at getting a Bambino Plus as well for the hassle free life…

I ordered this probably a month ago. Be aware they moved the delivery date to the end of July.

years ago I got one for about 350 (from Italy) and it's still going strong! replaced the steam wand and got new filters, but apart from that - still brewing! don't use it too often these days though, but can confirm it's a great simple and robust machine
