Husqvarna 130 Chainsaw - $349 (Was $449) @ Husqvarna (In Store Only)

230

I have listed the 130 model as it is affordable for the home/general use - Other models on sale can be found: https://www.husqvarna.com/au/products/chainsaws/

From the website:
If you’re looking for a chainsaw to use around your home and garden for years to come, it’s worth investing in a saw that’s up to the job. A saw worthy of the Husqvarna name. The Husqvarna 130 is easy to start, easy to handle – and can cut firewood with ease, help with pruning and even take down the odd tree. Small, but mighty – and great value, too.

I found the closest store by selecting 'where to buy' on the website.

If you are not a heavy user then get a battery chainsaw. You won't regret it. No more mixing fuel, chainsaw that won't start etc.

We use chainsaws a lot in SES and there are some jobs that need the power of a big petrol saw, but most of the time a battery one would be perfect and wouldn't require anywhere near the level of servicing to keep ready. I'm very jealous of the units that have the battery ones but unfortunately the members of those units have proven to be too attentive for our unit to nick any of their saws.

      • Do you know which battery chainsaws they use?

Sorry, can't remember. Across the state (WA) the petrol standard seems to be Stihl so it was probably that. It was rather manky weather at the time so the focus was on getting the job done safely and getting home to a nice hot shower.

@ziva: No worries, I do it because it's fun (most of the time).

  • Perfect for the Zombies or cabin fever

  • Slightly underpowered for a 16" bar but great for light domestic use.

i can use that for doom eternal

  • Social distancing enforcement tool.

    • Just bought the 799 smallest arborist chainsaw the other day from a dealer.

Had a good chat about working conditions and what I needed it for before buying.

I recommend you go in and speak to them in person for any shop.

I ended up paying a lot more as I wanted something I could lean out with and control at a distance. The 2.6kg compared to 4.1 with the same power but you have a better grip etc.

Again. Weigh this up against the cost you have for what ever you are thinking about.

I had a quote to remove the tree for just over 1200 so decided to buy myself the toy and a work out in the process.

There is also a big difference in the motors and where a lot of the components are made.

From memory a lot of the entry levels have fixed settings and Chinese parts and are a bit rough.

When you pay more you move to Korean and then German made components.

Most of the motors though are Chinese.

Again. Don’t quote me. Go in store.

      • Also. I didn’t end up paying sticker price. Think I got about 6-7% off sticker price.
