  • now just need some ali coupon.. i have like aud20-25 ready to buy items in watchlist

  • the power charger prong will not be AU, right?

    • Depends which charger you pick. I went for the Lii-S4 charger as its a DC 5v input so it can be used with any phone charger or powerbank

  • If I have a Maha C9000 (for nimh), and don't have any li-ion, then any other reason for me to upgrade to a LiitoKala? (I know they're the rage now, but I haven't kept up with battery chargers!)

Can't really answer that for you to be honest. I purchased one to use it with my new 18650 batteries and can consolidate the NiCad charger I have to this also

      • omg 18,650? wow eneloop is only 1,900 hmmm.. tempted.. if i put that 18,650 in a mouse that will last like half a year maybe?

        • +2

18650 is a type of li-ion battery - it's the name of the battery type (like AA), not the capacity of the battery (mah).

A 18,650mah battery would be big! aha :)

          • @caprimulgus: no wonder! silly me

          • @caprimulgus: To expand on this, 18650 is a reflection of the dimensions of the battery. In this case it reflects a battery of 18mm diameter and 65mm length.

And for quality cells, the capacity ranges from 1,000mAh to 4,000mAh, although 4k is not common yet due to cost. They are lighter and can deliver their capacity at much higher amoerage than old tech, and generally have very low self discharge. If you could get a cell that had 18Ah for a mouse, it would last about 10 years!

i think maha is good enough, i also have NITECORE since don't know when, its bulky but i feel it is good

      • Yes. Both are good I believe. I have a Nitecore D4. If I recall, the Maha does capacity testing? Useful to weed out the rubbish cells, and give your usable ones a new lease on life.

any other reason for me to upgrade to a LiitoKala?

      I have an MH-C9000 and an Lii-500.

The MH-C9000 is perfect for photographers. If the battery gets a bit old and its impedance starts to rise (a problem for high-drain devices like camera flashes), the charger will say "high" and refuse to charge them. So if the MH-C9000 charges them, the batteries are in tip-top condition.

The Lii-500 will charge any battery unless it's completely dead. Had an eneloop recently that charged in one minute, so I put it on fast test, and it discharged in one minute also. That one is going to Aldi for recycling.

I have quite a few batteries that the MH-C9000 won't charge, but they're fine in clocks and remotes and kitchen timers. The Lii-500 charges them.

      • Oh interesting! Appreciate the input, that is actually very helpful, and something to consider! (Even if just an excuse to buy another charger! aha) :)
