I got this a few weeks back, worked fine and used AMEX.
Where does the deduction take place because I go to checkout and the $5 was not deducted from the total.

The way it has worked in past is you make a first purchase using VISA card and then on subsequent Tuesday (or after few days - you need to keep checking as there is no notification), a $5 voucher will be added. This has a very small validity window. Mine showed up and then disappeared within the window so I thought its a glitch as I was sure it was within 7-day or so validity window. But next day it appeared again almost about to expire. Used it the same day.
So you still have to make 2 purchases ($5 voucher valid on second purchase). And since you cannot use 2 codes in app, it would be valid on full price items (or anything that is already on special price). For the first purchase you can use codes. IIRC, it also worked on a first purchase of $1 chips.Ok I am still confuse. If I have previously paid in the past with a Visa card then I'm not longer eligible?
I've paid in the past (more than 6 months ago) with Visa, but I still got the offer.
Maybe their targeting criteria is something like someone not having used Visa recently?

There is a minimum purchase required to get this offer:
Use an eligible Visa card to make your first purchase valued at $5 or over in the mymacca's app;
Just used mine today - no issues. Had a one week expiry date. $5 minimum

I suddenly got a $5 voucher for using Visa! Had used it back in June (though it was my first Visa purchase, it wasn't my first overall purchase - earlier purchases were using MasterCard). Meanwhile the $2 KitKat Mcflurry offer disappeared even though it had validity !!
I did this once. The money disappeared by the time I wanted to use it (a few months after I got it). Not sure if it is a system glitch or it has an expiry.
