Unfortunately there's no ETA on when it'll be delivered. Been looking for a motherboard with WiFi inbuilt for my portable rig. A lot of places are out of stock and the ones that do have them for around $280. Save yourself $50 if you don't need it in a hurry

I was about to say the same thing. PCIE GEN 4 will be standard. Good to have for the future.
what is good about it?
You just answered your own question :')
This is a great board too (I have it).
i have this board - its great - one thing that is not often mentioned is the superb sound chip on it - really excellent - one thing to keep in mind op is msi did not release a "max" version of this board like they did with most of their others when the 3000 series cpus came out
Does that mean it's not Ryzen 3000 compatible out of box and will need a bios flash before using?
I've got this board, and it was 3000 series compatible out of the box. The vendor probably flashed the bios. This board does have bios flashback so you don't need to install a 2000 series chip to flash it.
Thanks for that. I read online that because this board has the smaller bios chip they reverted back to a lite text version of the bios in order to support Ryzen 3000.
Is that still the case or have they change back to a GUI bios interface?
Agree, this board was one of, if not the best "non max" B450 board due to decent VRMs + peripheral features. IMO this gen of AMD motherboards have been a let down on other features like decent audio even compared to Z170 / Z270 Intel boards due to the challenging/expensive VRM.
It's a shame MSI never released a MAX version of this board, almost pulled the trigger on this but I don't want to risk ending up with a non-Ryzen 4000 series compatible mobo with it just around the corner.
The "max" version was recently announced. Available to buy at Pccasegear here - https://www.pccasegear.com/products/50001/msi-b450-gaming-pr…
Happy to be corrected!!
Will be interesting to see how this compares to the new B550 boards out in June. Since the ETA is so close to then I would wait if possible!
The mini ITX boards have wifi. Grab one of those if you want portability and make a SFF build.
Genuinely curious… what are some of the uses of a portable desktop PC?
Not so much portability (I don’t need that but OP might) but more so how much space it saves on your desk.
Once you build a small PC you rarely consider going to full ITX again.
Moving it around the house to different rooms/desk/next to tv. Easier to transport to elsewhere when needed due to work or leisure reasons.
I'm talking about the above for "really" Small Form Factor PCs (< ~15L), not the "chunky" cases posing as as SFF just because they only accept ITX boards (and well smaller than full and mid towers but still chunky enough to require two hands to pick up safely).
E.g. check out InWin Chopin to see how small it is. SilverStone SG05/SG13 or other ~15L or less cases acceptable too.
I have a portable desktop I bring to LAN events, makes it more enjoyable not to move around a bulky pc and as it takes up less space, provides more leg room in cramped settings
I'm would be looking out for the B550 out in June.
