Do these have the ties/loops in the corners to stop them moving inside the cover?

    • +1

no, there are no ties or loops

      • +1

the better ones do, just an FYI, something i'm looking for in one atm. Thanks for the reply.

        • +5

It's something we could add for the future, thanks.

        • +2

wife uses 4 safety pins in the corners, not on this quilt but in general.

          • @warney: I thought of hand sewing some in, but need a new one, hence asking, thanks for the tip! :)

    • +1

Arrggghh!! A definite bugbear I have had with quilts.

      • +1

not sure why I got negged asking a simple question lol

    • +1

I own two wool quilts. I definitely know what you mean about quilts moving inside the cover but in my experience, I've never had this issue with wool quilts. The quilt is firm (but also soft) and heavier than other types of quilt materials, which I believe allows it to keep its shape within the cover. I also find putting it inside the quilt cover super easy too. Just need a bit of shoulder muscle to swish the quilt a few times and the corners of the quilt fit will snugly into the corners of the cover.

No need for safety pins or ties at all :)

      • I've got a wool quilt that moves all the time, it's super annoying!

  • +1

    LOL at RRP

    • +1

I see you've never brought a quality wool quilt. A quick google will show you prices over $400

      • +5

You can get an equivalent Australian made 500gsm merino blanket here for $72.25 using a code. I have one, and it's great.

Just because you can spend 'over $400' on a wool quilt doesn't mean that's how much they're worth.

        • Showing as $48 for me, and then also can apply extra 15% off

          • +2

@Matt2024: u need to select queen size and 500 gsm,
AU $85.00 and $72.25 when u apply the extra 15% off.

            • @samelight: Oops my bad .. just clicked on their link to check it out and thought perhaps better deal had arrived.

      • ya a great quality wool quilt could cost you over $400, but i never hear of this "Ugg Australia" be4.
how u tell its better then a $49.99 one from ebay ?
        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/100-Australia-Wool-Quilt-Single-…

        • Wait, you've never heard of them?
Ugg boots were never a thing for you?
You poor cold footed fellow! :(

Big well respected Australia company. Been around for yonks

          • @MasterScythe: only hear of this UGG company, thats where the world known "Ugg boots" from,
look at the logo, clearly those 2 "UGG" ar not the same.
we used to laugh at the chinese "adidos", guess we ar not much different.

            and btw

            Big well respected Australia company

the original big well respected UGG is an US company.

            • @samelight: Not in this country fella, as you would know if you bothered to read the link provided in the other thread.

        • Unfortunate there is no proof to support the claim that this is australian. It even says on that company main page they are based in china and no green made in Australia logo

          • @Drogo: i never said this is made in Australia…

      • Bought a mini jumbuck thermal for $500 (mind you this was nearly half price)..it's really nothing to brag about and it's not as warm as a $100 wool quilt I just bought that I traded for.

  • Probably a silly question, but I assume the wool is in pockets to stop it moving around over time?

    • +1

Yes this is correct, thanks for supporting Australian Made.

  • Good price. Australian made. Thumbs up from me

  • any king deals?

    • +1

We Are working on producing these, not yet.

  • +1

Wool is not warm enough. I prefer goose down.

    • +1

These are pretty warm, the good thing about wool is it is warm in winter and cool in summer.

      • -2

How can it be both. It's either cool in winter and warm in summer or warm in winter and warm in summer. But warm in winter and cool in summer just doesn't make sense.

        • Its called insulation.
If it has enough to stop mass body beat loss, but enough airflow to not lock excessive heat in, you get both!

          • -1

@MasterScythe: So in winter it stops mass body heat loss, but there is enough airflow that it doesn't lock heat in. Doesn't make sense champ.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: It does, its the same reason sheep don't over heat in Australian Summer. Its natural Insulation. Sheep skin rugs will keep you cool if you lay on them in summer.

            • @[Deactivated]: doesn't lock EXCESS heat in. The body is fairly good at regulating a pocket around itself.

Obviously no blanket in summer is cooler, but the idea is that you can use it longer before the heat gets excessive.

              https://www.woolme.co.uk/blog/how-does-wool-keep-us-warm/

Wool itself isnt an insulator per say, it lets your body self insulate better by regulating air pockets around you.

  • Any king or superking deal? Just got a new king mattress and winter's coming

With everything that's happened in 2020, we got to support Aussie companies, Aussie Made and Aussie jobs. Great price for Aussie Made product.

    • -3

Waiting now for 7 trillion Chinese bots to down vote this comment and DDoS the site for alleged anti-chinese purchasing sentiment lol … But fully agree with you, especially now, Buy Local and support your Aussie companies and manufacturers

      • just FYI this "ugg" is not the same as this (https://au.ugg.com/) ugg,
same name, identical design for shoes, but not related!

when our Aussie "ugg" is doing this copy cat things, i really couldn't say im proud and definitely won't laught at the Chinese knockoffs here.

  • +1

    Let's support Aussie made product…please..

    • +5

how about supporting this Aussie made product with neally half the price and can't tell quality difference?

      • +1

Nice find. https://www.australianmade.com.au/licensees/woolcomfort they are on the official Australian made website too

      • … Nice find - includes King and Super King sizes

      • how is this one compare to the one in the topic?

        • u can't tell, that's the whole point !
u paying neally double and u can't tell the differences.

          • @samelight: will you prefer the 500 gsm or 700 gsm?

            • +1

@at91: personally i don't like the 700gsm, too heavy and very uncomfortable.
i would rather put some clothes on then getting a thicker quilt.

  • is this warm enough for winter in Melbourne? or the goose down one is better?

  • +1

we now have less than 20 left of this Item.

  • +1

Who needs a quilt cover PITA , the white looks cool as is.
@drongo…..those woolcraft queen price's start at $199 for the pov pack to $466 for what seems to be what op has posted.
@bonjovi… yes it's hard to get one's head around cool in summer an warm in winter it's all to do with thermal coefficients, heat transfer properties and material physics to name a few (previous life in temperature propargation research) …happy to look up old notes if your interested.
This seems like a good deal …now if only UGG can include a pair of Princess slippers For $50 as a deal I will be all in..:-)

  • we have 5 of these left
