    Gel or liquid?

    • I'll check and get back to you :)
      Edit: it's a liquid

    • +1

All the gel has been backordered until 2021. This sticky liquid stuff made of glycerol is much easier/cheaper to make.

    • Im using an isopropyl version I made that is very liquid with 20% aloe and its runny as, and I prefer it to the gel version we gave away. A little goes a long way.

      It's a ***kinrub!

    • $15 postage (to Melb at least)

$90? $18/lt better then some of the scammers on here, but not cheap.

    • +3

Cheapest I found was $15.99/L through "Jimmy Brings" and not in a bulk amount like this (utilised a $10 off voucher), and 72% alcohol not 80%. Deal here

Amino Z is $19.95/L and has amassed over 700 votes

    Is this vegan friendly?

    • +4

      Excellent as a vegan mayonnaise.

    • Cows like it…

  • Mistaken comment, sorry

  • OP, you have two products with the same name, but different ingredients (and % alcohol) … how does that work?

I wonder if the bigger bulk pack has higher alcohol concentration to account for higher chance of alcohol loss due to evaporation over time. As the smaller pack is 200mL, 75% is fine.

    • Sorry, don't work at the business so I don't really know. But I'm assuming based on the links that they made two different types for the different sizes…

    • The whole hand sanitiser boom is very confusing, there is a rang of percentages used and the percentage can be dependent on how its diluted; for example ethanol is usually 80% v/v which equals 70% w/v (v=volume, w=weight). The first link uses isopropanol (Isopropyl alcohol) C3H8O whilst the second is ethanol (ethyly alcohol) C2H5OH, so to add more confusion since they have different molecular weights if they are both diluted to 80% w/v they will have a different v/v. I hope this make sense, I am not a chemist :P

      • Reasons being glycerol running low everywhere and it's cheaper to make the runny version. Anything above 70% will be very runny and hard to spread out evenly before ethanol evaporate. The one uses isopropropyl is probably even cheaper to make but the smell will be too strong, there's reason it only used in wipes

    Thanks for posting!

There's no need for such big volume for personal use, but perfect to forward to Healthcare Professional friends who may need some for their practice and surgeries.

    Cheers~

    Is Klitrub a good brand?

    • +3

      It's non sticky

    • +2

I can never find it. Only ever heard about it.

  • Anyone seen what the postage is? it might make it not worth buying.

    • $15 postage (to Melb at least)

      Mentioned up near the top

      • yep not worth it…

  • $35 postage to tas seems a slight bit on the high side seeing as aus post for 5KG Australia wide is $18.50

    • +4

This stuff is marked as highly flammable though, thus could be a legitimate reason for higher than usual postage costs?

      • -1

Not really, flammable just means it's road transport only. Which is the cheapest method.

        • And what exactly is the name of the highway that goes to Tas?
I think $35 postage to TAS is reasonable and probably appropriate.

          • +1

            @icollected: TT-Line will do.

I don't think $35 postage is reasonable at all.

Before this whole craze started I got 5l Isopropyl Alcohol for $30, including delivery, all the way from Sydney to WA.

Also just checked: Sendle offers delivery from $13.03 for 5kg nationwide.

  • Thanks ordered 7

      If anything I'd go for 30 to 40, to fill a bathtub…

      • Have tried the bath after I visited my local Coles. Too much stinging in those sensitive areas.

    • Still have not ordered

  • -2

To cancel Amino Z order or not to cancel.. that is the question…

    • -1

Good luck with that. I have been trying to cancel my order for 3 days. Might have to call them today

  • When Masters went under I bought a 20L tub of metho for $15. Have only used about 5L so far. I think I'm sitting on a goldmine…

  • If anyone’s interested I saw small 200ml bottles available at Costco Epping today. Limit 1 per customer. Price wasn’t marked unfortunately so can’t advice on that.

  • Surprised this hasn't got 150+ upvotes.

    Manly was $75 + $15-$30 shipping and got 200+.

  • +1

Its a rip off - don't go there!!!

  • I made a purchase for click and collect but unfortunately found out they do not open on weekends which is the only time I am able to pickup. I have asked to cancel my order but they refused saying they cannot refund it and offered that the only solution was for me to pay $15 shipping. Not happy at all
