[eBooks] Free - First 4 Books in Martha Wells' Murderbot Series (Mailing List Signup Required) @ Tor.com

220

Tor.com are giving away the first 4 books of the Murderbot sci-fi series, one each day. I assume the dates are UK times, since the first book is still available.

Each ebook is available for free for 24 hours beginning from 6 AM ET (8 PM AEST), 19 April 2020.

Available to download in epub and mobi format.

Sign-up to their newsletter is required, but they don't seem to send out too much. Plus, you get notified when they have their monthly free book.

I enjoyed the first book. They're not particularly long, so maybe they're considered novellas? No idea really. But hey, free!

  • Great quirky scifi series. I've only read the first two, but have really enjoyed them a lot. Spam level on the newsletter is low too.

  • Tried signing up but this came up "We’re sorry, this promotion is only available in the US and Canada" their reason being due to "legal reasons".

Just sign up and select US. As far as I remember, it doesn't ask for any sort of address or confirmation

I read the first four last year. Really enjoyed this series.

  • How much they charge for these novellas are ridiculous. I can't wait for the proper fifth book to come out. Hopefully then, they will package these novellas into a single volume.

It says on the giveaway page that "Download period ends 5:59 AM ET, April 24", presumably this is for the 4th book. 5.59am ET in the USA is 7.59pm AEST, so I reckon on the Aussie east coast the first book ends at 7.59pm AEST on the 21st April, second book will probably then start at 8pm AEST on the 21st and finish 7.59pm AEST on the 22nd etc…?
Suggest you just set a reminder if you would like to download all 4.

Wikipedia: The Eastern Time Zone (ET) is a time zone encompassing part or all of 22 states in the eastern part of the contiguous United States, parts of eastern Canada, the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico, Panama in Central America, and Colombia, mainland Ecuador, Peru, and a small portion of westernmost Brazil in South America…..

Everything I know I learnt from the internet.

  • How do you read them if I dont have kindle or iphone?

      Or use a program/app on your computer/device…

    • There's an Android Kindle app too. Alternatively you can try https://read.amazon.com/
EDIT: WTF was I thinking? This ebook seller isn't Amazon.

    • I use Play Books app on my android phone. It's a Google app so it'll either already be installed on your device or grab it from the store.

Works a treat. Just download the EPUB version of any book, then open and it will upload in the library

  • How do I get the first 2 books? Can anyone PM me with a dropbox of the 2. Thanking in advance.
