I thought the chicken ones had no taste whatsoever. The pork ones were a little better.

  • Anyone else tasted them before?

Great price for made in Australia dumplings. Meat-filled dumpling (AOT seafood) must be made in Australia in most cases.

Asian grocers (or their distributors) tend to let their frozen products partially defrost through negligence (IME.)

Big supermarkets, on the other hand, tend to have rock solid supply chains. It's one of the few times I prefer to buy Asian products in big supernarkets.

Yes, tastes alright but skin is super thick

      • Thanks. Like 'dimsims'? :)

A lot thicker. Maybe like 2-3mm thick. Good if you like pastry I guess.

          • @coriqt: Sounds terrible. Out of stock in most Vic Woolworths anyway.

The pork and prawn one to me is the nicest major supermarket frozen dumplings when steamed then fried.

(In comparison to Mr Chen’s which I wouldn’t fry, but love steamed)

    • Nothing special

  • I've tried the pork ones. THey're okay for the kids but I prefer Mr Chen's dumplings which are tastier but more expensive.

  • I've had the chicken and the pork. Not a fan. Very processed and bland. My son thinks they are okay.
We've tried lots of types. Eat steamed dumpling regularly.

  • After making your own, these taste like turd

  • These used to be good but they changed the recipe or something in the last 6 months. The pastry is spongy.

compare to Mr.Chen dumpling? They ain't that good either.

Only the prawn hargows are good.

  • Anyone tried out Aldi? Looks like all time under $9.99 a bag

    • They're not bad. We had the prawn ALDI ones recently and then the prawn KB ones from Woolies a few days ago, very similar.

      • is this the dumpling or hargow?

      • Maybe from the same factory (in Vietnam?)
