Email App - Resize image option

So I am now in the LG eco-system after leaving the Samsung pond. Whilst it wasn't perfect I used the native Samsung email app as it had the ability to resize photos while composing. I used the feature a lot as I take a lot photos on building sites and the ability to resize them smaller as a batch in the email was really handy.

The Samsung app doesnt work on the LG (assuming there is some convoluted work around) so does anyone know of an email app that has a the same feature?

  • I have the LG V40 and I use the Gmail app. I could not find any way to resize photos when attaching them to an email (I tried many different methods). I'll keep trying though

  • Ok I kept trying and these two options were the only ways I could do it, it's not the most direct method but I managed to get a 5.4MB picture down to 1.5MB using the 1st method:

Go to gallery/photos and select the image you want. Click the share button and open with QuickMemo+ then share that image via QuickMemo+ to you email app. It will attach a reduced image file in you email.

If you want the file size down even more then (I got mine down to less than 1MB):

Share the selected photo with your messages app (it will reduce the file). Long press the image on the messages app until you get copy, paste the image onto you email (or you may have to go through QuickMemo again).

I didn't try this for a batch of photos and I do realise that my method is not ideal but it works of you're desperate.

  • I use an android app called Nine email (1 week free trial) when you attach image a pop up gives you an option to keep the original size or resize it. Maybe try looking at a few third party email apps?

Thank you all for your suggestions much appreciated! I will check them out. Thanks Lizard for taking the time to test different work arounds
