[NSW, VIC, ACT] Riverina Full Cream/Reduced Fat Milk 2L $2.20 @ Woolworths

950

They are normally $3.20 and rarely/never have discount(unless clear out due to expiry). Both are cheaper than Woolworths own brand milk this week.

Riverina Reduced Fat Milk 2L|$2.20

At Riverina Fresh, we believe creating high-quality, great tasting dairy every day. So we carefully select our milk from a dedicated group of just over twenty farms tucked away in the farmland of the Riverina region in NSW and bottle it daily to give you a consistently smooth, full bodied flavour. We've been producing dairy products locally since 1922, so we know a thing or two about making consistently excellent milk. It also makes a great tasting coffee and is highly regarded by baristas in Australia's leading cafe's.

I bought one today, best before is 23rd. You can check stock level online.

Sorry. Most of time when milk is on special its store specific for short expiry.

But this all stores so should be standard expiry.

        Thx

    • All of the ones in my local woolworths (Balmain) are the 19th Apr.

  • Love riverina and norco. Can someone explain to me why people continue to buy the $1 trash?

    • +13

      Probably because it's $1

      • +7

        I love $1 trash milk

    • +13

Why do people still drink tap water when there is delicious San Pellegrino available…..

    • +7

$1 milk, where? Even the 1 litre milk is $1.30

      • -2

Well I dont buy it so forgive me for not knowing the price

  • Any comments on A2 milk (3L $7.5 , 2L $5)?
Is it really worth to move to A2 from Dairy farmer or Farmers own?

    • +15

Yes, there are very trustworthy studies done by the company that show A2 milk cures cancer, ebola and HIV and many doctors, including Dr Nick, claim it cures Coronavirus in vivo.

Personally, I like the taste of A2 milk but don't think it's worth the premium as there are other good brands (like Devondale) that taste good.

      • +1

It certainly is debatable but it doesn't stop the hype. It's served me well owning shares in them but I still don't buy the stuff.

      • +4

        Hi Dr Nick.

I wouldn't go so far as calling A2 milk snake oil but most of the A2 so called foundings have been funded by, you guess it, A2 Milk Company. The only arguable benefit seems to be less digestion discomfort. So if you have no discomfort drinking regular milk, I don't see any reason to pay premium for it. Taste is objective though, some like the taste, my 3yo has no preference as long as it's full cream.

    • A2 milk tastes good, slightly better than Norco and Riverina but I can't justify the price when the latter two are good. And no I dont believe in the A2 protein bullshit

  • This must be due to the economic fallout associated with cutting ties to their sister city:

I think it is due to the closure of cafes during this period. I know many cafes use this brand.

  • Just a heads up for online shoppers, I ordered this on my last order and it was cancelled and refunded about two days ago.

  • They were $1 at my local Woolworths (Bundoora VIC) last week.

    • $1.50 for at least a week in Vic until recently.

  • It’s always on special when the expiry is close to 3 days

    • +1

      That's not the case here.

  • $1 for 2L at Woolworths Williamstown, Vic, milk expires 23/4/20

I bought some of this when it was discounted about a fortnight ago. Had a very unpleasant flavour. The cows in the Riverina must eat some bad grass!

  • Better than WW own, but not as good as Pura which isn't as good as Paul's.

Damn, there's been a lot if cheap milk over the last 2 weeks!

    • Solid analysis.
Pauls farmhouse gold (cream on top) tastes the best from the supermarket milks, costs more though.

Milk tastes much better in glass but that stopped years ago.

  • At Wollies in Williams Landing (VIC) we bought this milk for $2. It was two weeks ago. It was the same price for days.

Riverina was once MDP and produces beautifully creamy milk. I have my suspicions that the Aldi's milk we buy locally is from Riverina, it's as good.

  • Tried this milk and it's pretty good.

  • Loving this milk since its debut late last year, especially the lactose free range!

  • Judging from the comments it’s not just me that really enjoys this milk (in my coffee) over Woollies brand - but what’s the difference? Why isn’t milk just milk?

    • Maybe fat content?

I reckon it's also what the cows eat. In the US they ultra heat treat almost all milk, the home brands taste very bland, slightly watered down. The grass fed stuff over there has a lot of flavour, you can almost taste the grass and not in a bad way.

  • My local woolies has had it at this price for a few weeks now.

The longest expiry I found was 26th
Nice surprise with this special, slightly cheaper than Homebrand

      • Got one with 8th May yesterday.

        • -1

          NICE!
Going for a grocery run tonight. Let's see

  • This is $1.99 at my Woolworths.

  • Great price/deal. Unfortunately I've had to switch to a lactose intolerance version of milk due to somewhat severe stomach problems. Finding that the 'Nymil' brand is surprisingly good… soy, almond and other versions kind of put me off, but again the 'Nymil' brand… quite good. $5.40 for 2 litres! Beats the hell out of extreme stomach pain though. Glad someone put me onto it.

    • This brand actually has lactose intolerance version. I just saw it today

      • Cheers Jared. I could have been more clear in my initial comment… In fact I was put onto the Zymil' product version of 'Paul's Milk' by my pharmacist after telling him of my stomach problems.
(I should clarify this as mistakenly said name of product was 'Nymil'). As you have pointed out, they (Paul's) do in fact have different product versions of milk.

Also, someone asked about who owned Pauls, I consequently found this:

In 1998, Pauls Limited was purchased by the Italian company Parmalat, and officially changed its name in 2003 to Parmalat Australia Ltd. The company currently has its headquarters in South Brisbane.
Today, Pauls is an Australia brand name under the Parmalat umbrella.

  • Are they a wholly owned Australian company?
