Ultrasone is a european brand. Known for their S Logic technology that gives these headphones surround sound feeling. Though targeted at studio monitoring, these have great bass. Makes for enjoyable listening.

These are not as bright as M50X.
They're headphones. Audio technology changes slowly and even then the changes don't necessarily mean better.
I bought these a year ago. If anybody disappointed with the sound initially, try couple of things:
* Try adjusting the ear cups alignment with respect to ear canal
* Make sure you rightly align the pin at ear cups, and then twist to lock.
Yeah it seems the positioning of the driver and how that tends to interact with its v-shaped tuning are why this headphone has dramatically dropped in price.
Interesting take on things, but an angled driver/pads would probably get most of the soundstage benefits without making the fit more of a chore.
Apparently you also need good gear to tighten the bass.
This is just mean. It's taken nearly every bit of will power I have NOT to buy these as I really don't need more headphones and have ATXM50s already. But these 820s look so awesome! :-)
They are trying to do the same thing Bose did with their 901s all those years ago - bounce the sound off the wall behind the speakers. Bose 901s work better in larger rooms. I wonder if these work better in larger ears.
