Samsung 55" Q75R QLED TV QA55Q75RAWXXY - $1535 Delivered to NSW Metro @ Appliances Online

90

*Ok so there is a catch… It seems to be $1535 with free delivery to certain NSW suburbs.

But!! I matched this price at Harvey Norman Burleigh Waters. Last one left there. But try other retailers!

This TV is becoming hard to come by now.

I know it's not the best price its ever been but it's either this or be stuck with the 2020 line up..

    Gone already

  • I've got this TV. Q70R in the 55 inch. Beautiful panel, I use it as a monitor for HTPC. Played Nier Automata when i first got the TV, at 120fps. I've done a few calibrations from youtube/rtings, and as I posted in a forum the other day, I dont connect it to the internet or update it. AMA

    • Any main difference between the q70 & q75??

Q70R and Q75R are the same, just different naming in Australia. The Q70T is inferior as it has an edge-lit panel.

Thanks Kelvin, yes thats right. Mine is the one from the Rtings link. I ordered it from BandHphoto in August last year. I'm living OS. I bought it because of the rtings ratings, my budget, and another ratings probably from amazon reviews which were all positive at the time.

If anything, it was frustrating when i bought it because i needed to spend 30 minutes - 1 hour to set it up and look at all the calibration and settings. For example, I played a movie scene with fast motion and it looked terrible, so I spend a bit of time going in and out of the menus testing and trying out smooth motion, black levels and game mode to get it looking best. Playing games on it has been awesome.
Previously when I had bought a TV with no branding, the settings were straight forward and it worked well straight out of the box. Also my previous, much cheaper TV would automatically turn on when it detected my PC turning on. And it would detect the signal turning off, and would display the 'shutdown in 30s' counter. This $1500 big brand TV doesnt do that.
          First world problems.

Please explain why you don't connect to internet or update?

      • LOL imagine having a Smart TV in 2020 and watching FTA….

        EEEEEEWWWWWWWW

The first thing you do is connect these to the Internet…. and if it's the only thing you do you are still ahead.

      • Because I run HTPC through the TV, and theres no need for any of the apps on the TV. Updates and connection to the internet adds advertisements. Not just samsung, but other brands have this issue too.

Yeah no way would I consider watching FTA TV

        • No, they fix issues and add features.

          • @scuderiarmani: I'll take your advice and do an update. I've done one update since buying the TV (November last year) and as a result it added advertisements to my home menu. Theyre not there when its not disconnected to the internet. I rarely use home menu anyway, and i can always unplug the internet. Eventually I'll get a pihole as I finally have a VPN.

I've searched AVforums and havent found any further issues or complaints about future updates.

  • The q75R or the 2020 q80T?
Seems to have the same amount of local dimming zones
