Hi! For those that missed out on the Amazon deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/528803) and need to max out that memory for their Nintendo switches etc.

Not as cheap as the previous amazon deal.

Just for reference, the formatted usable capacity on this card is 366GB.

Give yourself some credit, it is cheaper than the last amazon deal. It was 87.57 and this one is 85.95. Just not too sure about this "shoppingsquare.com.au" ethic of stocking the product and shipping it. Way too many unethical sites that advertise their product in stock but takes forever to ship out, waited until they acquire the product cheap, or are no longer that expensive, then they ship to you. This tactics is way overuse in many online businesses.

  • Is this seller reliable? Are their Sandisks genuine? How's their delivery speeds?

      Hi,

I've used them on eBay, they are a power seller.

      https://ebay.com.au/usr/shoppingsquare

      Pretty good with deliveries etc

Bought from them before too, they're no longer registered on ebay though.

        • Oh yea! I was wondering why I couldn't find their items on there anymore

            @MohTheory: Probably since ebay's delivery date guarantee…..

            • @MasterScythe: They don't have stock of a product sometimes, sends you some other shit and expect you to be happy with it.

  • Any deals on 256 GB MicroSDs?

  • Can I use this for my RPi 3b+? How will the speed be vs a USB drive?

The 100MB/s speed rating is deceptive. The card says U1, so write speed is in the 10-30MB/s range.

Cards list two speeds: this card has a UHS-I communications interface, denoted by the Roman numeral "I", which means the card can communicate at up to 105MB/s. The communication speed does not indicate read speed or write speed. It's like putting 200kph-rated tyres on a 50cc motorbike: they won't make the 50cc motorbike achieve a speed of 200kph.

Annoyingly, the SD card association, who set the ratings for speeds, have gone out of their way to make the speed ratings confusing. There are three overlapping ratings, "Class xx" for speeds up to 10MB/s, U1 or U3 for speeds above that, and "Vxx" rating for speeds exceeding 30MB/s.

Almost all SD cards are UHS-I, so it's pointless listing them as being UHS-I. It's like saying "Car with 4 wheels", almost all cars have four wheels. A very small number of cards are UHS-III, and have a second row of contacts, and have a communication speed of ~300MB/s, for cards with read and/or write speeds above 105MB/s.

  • What is the endurance of this thing. I am afraid of losing all 400GB of data.

    • It's not a high-endurance card, so endurance will be no better than normal low-capacity Sandisk cards.

  • I ordered one of these and have had no contact since the initial order email. I make a ticket to them and was told it's out of stock for ANOTHER 7 to 10 days. Pretty poor form. I mean, I get things are weird right now but you shouldn't have to chase up orders after 10 days with no contact. I was planning on buying $700 of new computer parts from them but I'm really thinking I'll shop elsewhere now.

    • Ahh damn, I remember their eBay being a bit slow (2-3 weeks). That sucks, thanks for letting us know!
