Hmm, I wonder how accurate the date is going to be. EBGames seems to have pushed their previous pre-order date of mid-April (I believe the 17th) to May 15 for the Neon joy con model while the grey version was pushed back until May 8th.
The pre-order before COB yesterday can be picked up 17th. Confirmed with Ebgames just now. He said the website release date does not reflect your original pick up date.

i was actually in the market for a switch lite and there seems to be fairly ok stock of these around but the actual switch those seem to be rarer than hens teeth atm

So what's the big deal with the original switch over the lite?
im not sure myself, maybe because if you have kids at home two can play at the same time as where you'd need to buy 2 switch lite's or more to let the kids play together?

Has better battery life, can play on TV , all games work on it with all features (no rumble on lite), games like Just Dance don't work unless you have a Joycon and the dock is super handy to charge.

The point of a Switch was it switches from handheld to home tv console, The new Switch lite is not a real Switch.

The Lite is probably the way to go for anyone who has a console already at the TV, and digs the idea of playing Witcher/Assassins Creed on the train (when train rides are a thing again).
I've adored my Lite and it's definitely my no.1 gaming device currently, but I also have a PS4 and a decent PC, so I don't feel in any way restricted by not being able to hook up the Switch to the telly.

If anyone spent $600+ like ebay and gumtree had them for they are either able to waste that kinda money or complete idiots.
Either way, its their own fault for buying a console that was guaranteed to restock globally throughout this pandemic at 1.5-2x retail.
The only ones that are worth $500-600 are the v1 unpatched consoles for 'homebrew' (depending on condition - it better be great). Still an inflated price from before when they were in the 400 to low $500 range.

Meanwhile there was worse condition ones or ones without accessories at $650 in bidding with 2 days left.
People ask $800 but there's no way anyone's paying $800 for a Switch with nothing else. I got someone to buy a used Switch with box for $500. I sold a Switch V2 with lots of digital games for $720. I can't imagine $800 actually happening - it's just greedy sellers fishing.

Has anyone received news that their switch has shipped? I sent them a message a few days ago on eBay and all they said was that they were receiving shipment this week with the promise that it was going to ship after they receive it.
I gave them a message today and they said the same thing.
Mhmmm I wonder if they oversold their allocation. They did sell 309 according to eBay which seems like a lot.
I sent them a message this morning and they've replied back saying that their shipment has been delayed till "early next week".
I think restrictions will be eased before we receive our shipment LOL
