    You guys have to admit though, a refurb is better than Yum Cha, you know, if you really can't stretch the extra $30 for a brand new Acer. Thats a slab of VB to some people lol.

          meh, i rather buy a couple of yum cha ones. seriously, $30 more to get a brand new one as opposed to a refurb one.. if you are one of those people who eat out, you just need to skip eating for a day.

          But now that its been negged to oblivion, is anyone game enough to try an OW pricematch? In typical dodgey online store fashion, this doesn't say refurb in big letters anywhere.

          i don't think i would want to make enemies at my local OW with this deal :D I go there often, and so far my pricematches and returns are all cool. The OW pricematch policy is one of the best 'bargaining tool', pity they don't sell dysons…

      I've seen several reports on WP of the casing splitting open at the seams. I certainly wouldn't be buying Acer this side of $250 refurb or not.

    What's your dead pixel policy?
    Rep at OW told me he has A500 16GB with 1 dead pixel for $350 because Acer does not want to replace tablet with only 1 dead pixel :/

    What would be an appealing price for a refurbished unit in light of the HN/OW major price slash?

    Looks like we'll have to sharpen our pencils here. $299+ shipping?

    Thanks for the feedback everyone. We've dropped it to $299 until stock sells out today. Everyone who has ordered has been contacted for a refund in difference.

    Come next week, we'll have some killer price on 16gb and hopefully 32gb model. Yes, cheaper then HN/OW and delivered Aust wide. Got to love a price war eh :)

        The refurb will be priced the same. The new models will be another pricing but definitely less then HN/OW. Yet to finalize with the team.

    I'm still iffy on whether this is a good deal or not (I'm very wary of refurb units), but I have + voted Jason_dealfox's comment for being a good responsive rep who actually listens to potential customers instead of suddenly getting all defensive and hostile.

      I guess refurbs come down to which manufacturer and their reputation for refurbished goods. I have no hesitation with some brands like Apple, Samsung, Panasonic, etc with their refurbs. We checked the Acer stock and they all look great with reassurance from Acer Australia direct plus warranty provisions.

    I decided to get one. Considering it's got 12 month warranty I don't think there's too much risk, and teh $299 price is the point at which I told meself I'd get a tablet for reading PDF books on.

    Just a shame this had to come out after I left for my bali holiday.

    Great deal for $300. Good to see the Rep responding to negative criticism. I personally wouldn't pay the extra $80 for brand new, most refurbs usually have the outer casing replaced anyway making them look new.

        I bought Acer Iconia and decided not to claim the eVoucher because I need to cut barcode from the packaging box.
        I rather keep the box in its original condition.

    Just wanted to give a big up to dealfox for getting me my Iconia I ordered yesterday afternoon into my hot little hands less than a day later. Haven't fired her up yet - that's my job for tonight.

    I also bought the 8GB MicroSDHC that turned out to be a class 4 instead of the class 2 advertised. Nice little bonus! Not often you get more than you pay for.

    I've just received the Acer tab and it's in as new condition in original box. I should be able to use the serial number sticker on the box to claim the $100 eGift voucher. If not then it will only cost me a stamp.
    The tab comes with HC 3.0 so I'll need to upgrade to 3.1/3.2
