  • Any TH22 deals coming up Op?

    • +1

I will ask them for a deal, maybe they could do a lamp sale over the Easter long weekend.

      • Would be good to get a sale on TT-BH041

  • +1

OP, any change for a deal for a car charger with PD?

    • +1

It doesn't look like they have any in stock in Australia right now.

I will push for a deal as soon as they do.

      • Thankyou

      • @xev
I messaged you regarding a deal for a Taotronics LED desk lamp - can you please check your messages folder?

    • +1

      I second this.

  • Got the 2 port one thanks.

  • Also got the new version of the anc headphones in the deal last week (BH85's). so far so good.

ok i get it. No transmitter again. i SAID i GET it….!

My car has bluetooth inbuilt but only for calls. Which one of these should I be getting for music playback only?

    • If getting one purely for music playback I'd go with the TT-BR04, I have one and it works perfectly, especially having the media controls mounted near my steering wheel for easy access.

Keep in mind though most phones can only connect to one bluetooth device at a time (unless it's a bluetooth LE connection which I don't think cars use), so if you get a receiver for your car, you may also need to use it for calls instead of your car's bluetooth.

Source: own a 2007 VE Commodore that has calls-only bluetooth built in and a TT-BR04, my phone can only be connected to one or the other, not both at the same time.

      • +1

My car is also calls only but I connect to both the TT-BR04 simultaneously with no issues. Listen to music to the TT-BR04 and if a call comes in it goes to car built in audio phone connection.

        • Cool, thanks for that. The bluetooth in my car must just be too old or something then, lol.

          • @MitchyD1989: More so the phone. My LG V40 allows two bluetooth connections at once and you can choose which one to output to.

  • I got the 4 port. Someone broke into my car and nicked the old one. But what happened to Cashrewards ?

"Effective 04/04/20 AEDT, cash back will not be available through Amazon Australia until further notice."

  • Can anyone comment on the quality of the BR04 microphone in use? Watched a youtube video review and it didn't sound too great but that could have been a recording issue.
Need to decide if this is $27 better than just using my iphone mic and speaker as I do now.

    • I have one. Mic is pretty terrible unfortunately. This realistically only functions as a media player.

The other thing is that while it can sustain 2 phone connections, it will not automatically connect to 2 phones on start up. It will reconnect to the most recent phone and the 2nd phone need to be manually forced to connect through the phone’s Bluetooth settings, which becomes a PITA real quick.

      • +1

I don't agree with the mic being terrible - it's certainly not amazing quality, but I find it is very usable, I rarely get complaints when I regularly use mine for hands free calls.

Agree with the 2 phones thing, it's fine with 2 phones if they are never in the car together but in that situation which phone wins out seems to be fairly random

    • Sven, I have a better version of this which I no longer use. If you switch on DM I’ll PM you with the details.

    • I've recently (a week ago) installed it the BR04 into my car, and it works great. Annoyed slightly that I paid full price, but even still - stoked with it.

With that said, I've installed it at voice height on the upright on the drivers side (upright between windscreen & drivers window). I've probably spent 6-7hrs talking on it so far with various different people, and no issue - standing still to 100km/hr. I based this because my old car had the microphone just above the driver in the roof - so figured proximity is key.

I think it would be different if it was installed on the dash/console.

      • Possible for you to take a photo of exactly where you installed it? I'm struggling with the mic mainly because of the location, as I put it on the vent and I need to turn the aircon off and talk loudly for others to hear me properly.

        • You know where mechanics generally put a service sticker on your windshield? Just on the pillar there - right in the top corner.

          • @donbot: Oh right, thanks. I will try to do that as well then. The only reason I still had it on the aircon vent was so that both the driver and passenger are able to have a conversation using it.

            • +1

@evolution-flip: Ah ok. I didnt think about the passenger as its in our second car that will only have a driver in it.

Could mount it on the roof between the driver and passenger? I had to use a usb extension cable & joiner (along with 3.5mm joiner). Just get a bit more cable and route it underneath some trim.

  • TaoTronics TT-BR009 Hands-Free Bluetooth Car & Home Receiver - coming up as unavailable?

  • +1

Is there a receiver and transmitter deal?

  • Any deal for ba08?

  • +3

    Any deals on the TT-BA07?

    • +1

      Interest with this too

      • interested in TT-BA07 or TT-BA08 as well!

  • Do either of the Bluetooth adaptors draw power from the battery when the car is off?

Used something like this for a while and copped a flat battery - but was likely just old.

    • +1

The BR04 uses the cigarette socket in your car, so purely depends on whether or not that's active when the ignition is turned off.

  • BR009 is OOS

  • BR009 - yes I'm interested in getting one as well.
