  • Only had a quick look, but the electric doesn’t give you any speed or acceleration info. Range is pretty good so maybe it isn’t very fast. Being electric it would probably be a better commuter than a weekend toy

The TS only has a small range of about 80km/h under "ideal" conditions. It is also speed limited to around 50km/h. It is designed with inner city commuting in mind, where you would barely get above these speeds anyway. If I was going to go Super Soco, I would only consider the TC Max (but that is about $8,000 and still not as good as as an equivalent petrol powered bike.). Also added that there are no fast charging options available for the Super Soco range of bikes.

The Moto 3 would have a lot more power and greater range with the ability to refuel a lot quicker than the TS. The only issue with Braaap is that they recently went into some form of administration or receivership or something along those lines, so it may be a crapshoot if you actually get a bike or not with bikes not supposed to arrive until June this year…

There are a lot of good, used bikes out there at the moment with very low km on them. A good, low KM Ducati 659 Monster can be had for around $5,000. Something like that would have more than enough poke to last you your L's and your P's. You might find a gutless 250 will only last you less than a year before you want something with a bit more oompfh.

Consider used, almost new, low KM learner bikes. You will get a much better bike for the same amount of coin you want to drop on a brand new shitter. Look for the bikes from people who are finishing their restrictions and wanting to move to bigger bikes.

Used bikes in the same/similar price bracket I would consider; (Most of these can be found at 5~6 years old and under 25,000km)

    Honda: CBR500RA/CBR650F
    Suzuki: SV650/DZ400SM
    Kawasaki: ER6-nl
    CF-Moto: 650NK/400NK
    Hyosung: GT650/GT650R
    Ducati: V4 R/Superleggera Monster

  • Japanese trail bike - go anywhere

Get a used ninja 300/cbr300, it will be a far better bike. Both be found under $3k.

I was looking at Braaap before I ended up buying a CBR250. Was put off by the many charges they faced and that they went into liquidation (can't find any further on this, so don't know what happened in the end).

Might be a bit older, but much happier with the CBR250.

  • Dude, get a real bike from a real brand. Japanese.

    Can't go wrong with a CBR250/300. I just bought a CBR300 and love it.
