Features

Just you and your music
Dual noise cancellation microphones – one feed-forward and one feed-back – on the surface of the headphones catch more of the ambient sounds of your surroundings, whether it’s in-flight noise, city traffic or office chatter.

Adaptive Sound Control automatically adjusts to whatever you do
The Sony | Headphones Connect app offers Adaptive Sound Control, a smart function that automatically detects what you’re up to – for example, travelling, walking, or waiting – then adjusts ambient sound settings to suit the situation. You can also customise the settings to your preferences.

Quick attention lets you chat
Need to have a quick conversation? Hold your hand over the touch sensor, and the music quietens while sound from your environment gets louder.

Sound you can believe in
Small but powerful 25mm drivers, with highly rigid aluminium domes and soft urethane edge diaphragms, achieve the same sound pressure as conventional 40mm drivers – ideal for reproducing a full range of frequencies from low beats to soaring vocals.

pay $50 more and get XM3s

    • The WH? Where from?

      • -3

just wait, it will be around that price point soon enough

    • Why would you? I have h.ear on 2 (WH-H900N) and prefer their sound signature to the XM3s. They have more sub-bass, while the XM3's don't rumble much. They also sound amazing wired in active mode (i.e. turned on). The ANC on the h.ear on 2 also very good, although not quite to the XM3's level. I assume h.ear on 3 should have at least the same ANC as the XM3, due to the use of the current chip.

For what it's worth, I also think the h.ear series (I had the 1st gen as well) looks way cooler than the 1000X series.

If I didn't already have the H900N, I'd be all over this deal.

      • The H910N uses a near technology driver, aluminium coating and has better implementation such as bracing. It would not doubt sound cleaner and more technical.

H.ear3 would be recommended for those who prioritise sound quality over ANC, also that it's more stylish adds some merit to it.

While I'm a bit of a Sony fanboi myself, this is just Sony's marketing. I'm sure these will sound very good but I'd be surprised if they sounded better than the H900N (or even the XM3), which the much smaller drivers. For one, I expect that the sub-bass extension (one of the best things about the previous generation for me) will be gone. This is also confirmed by the early reviews.

    • $318.60 for the XM3 silver version.
I'd call $68.60 extra 'around that price point.'

  • Just noticed that they've reduced the driver size to 25mm from 40mm. A bit of a downer really but, on the other hand, they are achieving that massive sound on the 6mm drivers in WF-1000XM3.

  • Off topic but what is the beat deal going for the WH1000XM at the moment?

  • I just won a pair of these, I already have Bose QC35 (not II) and Sony WF-1000XM3's (ear buds).

Not sure if to use these or not, they do look really cool!

Congrats! Please report back on the sound quality once you've given them a run.
