Hey,
I'll be looking for a pet sitter soon for my dog and I was wondering what are the most important things I should look for?
What are the things to look out for?
Thanks

There is no large scale evidence that they can become infected or become carriers of COVID-19 at present. There are only 2 anecdotal cases out of Hong Kong that tested a very weak positive & displayed no symptoms of the virus, thousands have also been tested & returned negative results.
The World Health Organization has announced that dogs cannot contract Covid-19. Dogs previously held in quarantine can now be released. To be clear, WHO let the dogs out.
Obvious joke, but making note since this is a serious matter.
Evidence? And idiots throwing pets from buildings doesn’t count.
My Vet sent an email that dogs can't get covid19 but they can get a dog version of corona virus that gives them diarrhoea.
So unless someone coughs all over your dog and you pet it and touch your eyes, transfer seems unlikely.
Try a website like madpaws where you can find a sitter who is local, who has good reviews and is police checked, and you can meet beforehand.
do you have dates?
No but you can share some of the dog biscuits.
You might be locked down at home soon, so might not need one?
Any bargain on drones?
I think size is important. The person chosen to sit on the pet should be in proportion to the said animal. Don't want to turn this into an animal cruelty case.
References from actual previous clients.
Experience with your particular breed of dog if you have a breed with particular requirements or needs.
Physical size/strength if you have a bigger dog.
Local, because if a lockdown is ordered, anyone not local might have trouble getting to your dog.
u need a dog sitter?..
at this time, in this current climate, in the middle of world wide pandemic lockdown. everything closed, no planes, boarders closed, mass panic

Is that you Dr Chris
LOL. just saw that
Thank you to all the serious answers.. This is a hypothetical question as I'm living on earth and aware that no one will be doing any traveling anytime soon.
I have someone experienced and with a good history available. when you are ready please feel free to message me. I doubt they will be able to leave SA for a while though.
Dogs can die from covid-19, so probably a sitter that doesn't have it.
