  • Ok above 👆 I tried to post a link to the Amazon reviews up here I guess you can just google them they don’t seem too good

  • Thanks for the comment Fuzzyduck. Oz bargain must have removed the link sorry.

    • I just want to say that Nathan and his team at Milton at Ninebot Segway have been amazing. I purchased a NineBot Z10 from them and they have been tireless in their aftersales support. They have a shopfront in Milton and you can just rock up and they're always very helpful. You can also go in and test drive their products!

My only qualm is that if you buy from the eBay store, it must get shipped; it can't be picked up.

      • Cool - Didn't know Segway had a storefront at all, let alone in Milton!

Well being an Australian company on top of the 12 month manufacturer's warranty, you also have your statutory warranty under Australian Consumer Law - meaning it goes well past 12 months.

    • Hi Nathan,
Just to confirm if I buy the Es2 from your ebay site I can attend Milton for aftersales care?

  • Is it legal in NSW now?

  • Hi Qiaoer, they're still working on the legislation in NSW. You can get a ticket for riding at speed in public areas. Although many people choose to ride them in NSW anyway, this is at the customer's own risk.

This is a pretty good price. I've had an ES4 for a year now - AMA.

I have had a Xiaomi M365 for a year. It has been working fine except I want something more powerful for climbing slopes and suspensions for comfort. Could you share what the ES4 is like in the mentioned aspects? I would like to know about braking too.

      • +4

My understanding is that the torque difference in the ES4 vs M365 is pretty considerable. The comparison with the ES2 is pretty similar but with the higher watt battery added you get more grunt. Having said that, I would not necessarily call the ES4 a specialist hill climber but it depends on your needs. I ride to the park and there is a decent section with a gradual incline that it gets through no worries at like 15km/h but definitely likes a kick or two.

In regards to suspension, bear in mind it's got solid tyres so will be a rougher ride than yours with pneumatic. I wouldn't call the suspension overly great and you will bottom out regularly when you hit bumps but I personally don't mind the ride.

Braking is IMO the biggest negative for the ES4. The stock battery is in the neck and then the extra is also strapped on vertically, making it extremely front heavy. The handlebar brake is only for the front electronic brake, which is not strong and also forces you to be acutely aware of where your weight is balanced. You'll find you're using the manual foot brake 90% of the time, as there are heaps of reports of the e-brake frying the connectors on the circuit board (though this may be one of the issues fixed on the 2019 model).

Overall I feel if you've had the M365 for a year, use it regularly and are now looking for a genuine upgrade you should aim higher at something with rear disc brakes, batteries horizontal under the base and decent suspension. I have been very happy with mine and personally see no need to upgrade as it does everything I ask of it, but were I to purchase a scooter today I'd be dropping around $1200 for something else. At $750 this is a pretty good price, though I only paid $999 12 months ago from iScoot in The Valley.

        • Much appreciated for the detailed response.

    • So 1 year on, what would you consider as an upgrade? Zero 8/9/10? Something else? :)

      • To be honest mate I'm not wanting to upgrade thus haven't researched enough to hit an answer. A friend is in the market though and we recently went to the iScoot carpark sale and I got to test ride a few different models, none of which truly ticked all the boxes for me. Another friend has the Mercane Wide Wheel dual motor which he loves, I'm still on the fence about it.

Moral of the story - test ride!! We all have our own requirements. If you have are riding mainly on bikeways then the ES4 will do you fine, once you start getting footpaths involved it gets a bit bumpier.

        • Cheers mate, I'm on the fence as to what my first one to get as I haven't test ridden anything at all… will take your advice and see if I can find a place :) Thanks!

  • Does this come with the bonus drift e-scates? Thanks.

    • No mate, this is the ES4 model not the ES2. Worth $300 more than the ES2.

      • +4

Just to confirm, isn’t the ES4 just the ES2 with the battery added?

        • Im thinking the same!!!

          ES2 + Battery = ES4

          • @mrhorse: Sure looks like it. My daughter just bought the ES2 + battery for $694.11 with the PMID20 code from these guys.

            • +2

              @foonman: Thanks mate.

SegwayNinebotAU jacked up the price for the battery for 20%, so now applying PMID20 brings no difference to the pre-sale price.

              • +3

@mrhorse: I thought so. I was sure it was $249 when I was looking this morning but it changed to $299. A bit dodgy.

              • +2

@mrhorse: I didn't notice that. That's a bit rude. Daughter's lucky she got in before the price jack. (I wasn't quite right when I said she just bought it, she actually bought it at 10AM.

                • @foonman: Hi foon, sorry for the late update on this price. $299.95 is actually the official price as per the official website.

        • Correct.

        • Yep, I can also confirm that ES4 = ES2 + battery pack

        • Hi all, that’s correct, the ES4 is equivalent in specs to the ES2 + External Battery, although the ES4 does come in a different box and will be registered differently on the Segway app, the specs are identical.

Good way to dodge those street coughers.

Price jacking for other items in your ebay store - for shame on you SegwayNinebotAU

    • Hi tux, the listed prices (even excluding the coupon code) are actually cheaper than the RRP, they are not jacked. Including the coupon code, these discounts are substantial. Please refer to our official website, www.segwayninebotau.com.au for RRP pricing.

      Cheers.

      • They maybe cheaper than the RRP thats not the point. You still jacked up the price.

        Example 1 currently $686
        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Segway-ES2-Kick-Scooter-By-Nineb…

Previously was $599 before this coupon sale.
        https://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&ite…

Yes with the coupon it IS cheaper than $599, granted. But you price jacked. Lets come clean now

        • Hi Tux, thanks for your request for clarification.

          1. RRP is very important, eBay's policy is that list prices cannot go above RRP during a sale. We never do this. Our discounts are always legitimate.
          2. Yes, we provide discounts outside of coupon periods to our customers. We don't always leave our prices at the maximum RRP. This is normal.
          3. The '% discount' feature on eBay hasn't been working so the 'listing price' is adjusted to provide these discounts. Otherwise you would always see the RRP with changing discount percentages. This is the same thing. This is why comparing the eBay price to the RRP to calculate what discount you're getting, is always the correct way to think in this case.
          4. Here we have gone from the original discount, to a bigger discount to provide the best possible price to the customer

          I hope that helps.

  • Range is bit sucky. 65km would be better

    • Hi Gavman, the 30-35km range is more than sufficient in my experience (try drawing out some ranges on a map and it might surprise you), but if more range is what you’re looking for, we have the Max going for $899 at the moment which has a ~50km range depending on conditions.

Any upcoming deals on ES2 like you guys did back in Dec 2019 for $524.25?

  • @SegwayNinebotAU
Any thoughts on my comment above? Just seeing if I have misunderstood etc

  • I'm down on the Gold Coast so heading up to Milton to test is a bit inconvenient. What's the return policy? Is it possible to buy one to try and return if it doesn't work out?

    • Thanks for your question, Captain-Danke. We don't currently accept change-of-mind returns for the purposes of testing the product (i.e. if the product has been opened). Sorry, mate.

  • Why did you jack the price of Max scooter from $1124 to $1199??? :(
